Snappy Birthday

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. This week challenge hostess, Peggy finishes off the month with one last challenge.

This week Peggy asks us ....... Doyou have a month in the year when a lot of family members have birthdays? Peggy's family has a lot in February, so let’s do a Birthday card challenge. A littletwist….make it masculine!

Recently fellow "Crazy" and Karen Burniston Pop It Up's DT Member Karen Aicken shared a card she made with all the Karen Burniston Pop It Up's Design Team. Karen Aicken had used the new Rectangle Pull Card as a stand up card. I always love when a die can be used in different ways to give it a new look, so of course I had to play with this idea too and my card today is the result. You can see Karen Aicken's card here.

For my card I used the Rectangle Pull Card; Rocky the Crab; Beach Edges as well as parts from the Rectangle Accordion Card and Katie Label Pivot Card all designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Crafts Designs.

I used the waves from the Beach Edges along the base of my card and the sand on the panel behind the crab.

I attached Rocky the Crab to the spinner piece which comes in the Rectangle Pull Card die set. I wrote "Snappy Birthday" on one of the labels from the Katie Pivot Card set.

Here is my card when it is closed. You can see the waves at the bottom of the card and another cute little crab is sneaking up from the sand holding up the word "hello" (from the Rectangle Accordion Card set).

I felt the top of the card needed a little something, so I added some red glitter dots around the border.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
