Hi everyone,
Today I am sharing a card I created using the new Distress Oxide ink pads. When I first heard about this new product I thought I didn't need them as I have a ton of ink pads already and did I really need to try and find a home for even more! Well as you can see I changed my mind after watching a youtube Video by Jennifer McGuire.
As soon as the ink pads were available down here in Australia, I had to put in my order and of course once they arrived I spent the day playing with the various techniques which Jennifer had shown on her video.
I had a few failures, but I finally figured out what I was doing wrong and managed to create a ton of backgrounds made now, so I am sure you will see some of those appear on my blog shortly. For my first card I made I created a blended rainbow background using the Distress Oxides and yes they do blend beautifully. For my card I used White Soft Finish Cardstock for all the various layers, those that are colored I just blended on the Distress Oxide inks.
To decorate my card I used the Krista Schneider Jungle Cuties stamp and coordinating die set available from Elizabeth Craft Designs, I colored the monkey's shirt in rainbow colors to match the background on the card. I die cut the Circle Background which I layered over my rainbow background. I also used the ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners to which I added the A Way with Words - Baby sentiment die and the "Boy" sentiment from the Pop It Ups Baby Clear stamp set.
For the inside of my card, I create another rainbow background using the Distress Oxide inks which I placed at the bottom of the card. I used the bear from the Zoo Babies Stamp and Coordinating die set.
I also added three sentiments from the Baby Clear Stamp set.

Cute card!!!
Oh, this is adorable. LOVE that background! Funny, even seeing the inks at CHA didn't make me drool - but Jennifer M's video had me ordering them the next day. Unfortunately one of the items I ordered are on back order so who knows when they will ship ... but at least they are on order. Can't wait!
