Hi Crafty Friends,
It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. I am looking forward to another year of fun challenges with my "crazy" friends. Being a brand new month and year, it is time to introduce our challenge hostess which is ME!!!!
For my card today I wanted to play with Karen Burniston's Tag Book Pop-up Card die set ... this is SO MUCH FUN!!! Rather than make a tag book using the die I have used the tag pop-up part of the die set to create another card. I love when a die set allows you do more than just what it was designed for, this idea was inspired by cards created by fellow Design Team mate Karen Aicken.
To decorate my card I used the MFT Stamps Pirate Party, which is a stamp set I received for Christmas from a friend. The black diagonal stamped paper is using a background stamp from Simon Says Stamp. I also used sentiment from a Clearly Besotted Pirate stamp set.
Using the tag pop-up part of the die as a normal card, allowed me to add extra stamps and die cuts that I wouldn't have room for if I had created a Tag Book.
Here is a side on view of my card so you can see the pop-up part of the card a little better.
For the front of the card I repeated the use of the black diagonal stripe paper. I used the Nature Edges die set to create some sand. I also added another birthday sentiment.
Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
