Hi Crafty Friends,
My card today is for a challenge I do with a couple of friends of mine. Each month we challenge each other to create something using supplies we all own.
As I love interactive style of cards and I have acquired a few more die sets in recent months to construct these type of cards ... I challenged my friends to make an interactive card of some type.
I have created another Double Slider Surprise Card using Lawn Fawn's new Double Slider Surprise die set.
As I had just received my Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Mermaid stamp set, just before I started on my card for this challenge, I thought one of the three mermaids included in the set would be perfect on the front of the card. This stamp set was part of Simon Says Stamp's August Card Kit, however I only purchased the stamp set which can be purchased separately as some of the other items in the kit I already owned.
Here is a quick video to see my card in action.
When I created my card this time around I created it in portrait style rather than landscape so my mermaid would fit onto the card. I also added the stopper to the Double Slider part of the card so that the slider panels only come out as far as where the sentiments/treasure chest can be seen and not the full panel.
I added some sand to the bottom of the front of the Double Slider Surprise card panel, so that I could add the mermaid to the card and it not look like the rocks were floating.
I used Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky, Antique Linen and Tea Dye to create all the backgrounds on this card. I also used Honey Bee Stamp's Ocean Builder Stencil to add some rays to the top of my card and also the top slider panel ... these are easier to see on the card itself then the photo.
For the background on the base card I used Honey Bee Stamp's Ocean Borders stamp set.
For the inside of my card I added another of the mermaid from the stamp set. I added a sentiment from Honey Bee Stamp's Mermaid Song stamp set and some bubbles.
