A Little Bird Told Me ...

Hi Crafty Friends,

My card today is for a challenge I do with a couple of friends of mine. Each month we challenge each other to create something using supplies we all own.

This month our challenge was to create a card using one or more Sizzix products.

When I was looking through my Sizzix dies seeing what I wanted to use for this challenge, I came across this Tim Holtz Paper-Cut Bird die which I had received last Christmas and hadn't gotten around to use. So it was easy to decide what to use for this challenge.

I couldn't decide whether to die cut the image using white or black card, so I ended up doing both and created two cards. I also die cut the frame from Mama Elephant's Framed Tags - Hug It Out die set which I added over the bird die cut panel.

For the background I used Yupo Paper and Alcohol inks and also added a little gold foil randomly over the background.

For the sentiment I used a bird themed stamp set from Stampendous and the Honey Bee Stamps Banner Builder die set to die cut the sentiment.

For the inside of my card I die cut a white piece of cardstock using Heffy Doodle's Imperial Stitched Rectangles. I also had a piece of alcohol inked Yupo Paper which used similar colors to that on the front which was left over from another project, so I added that to the left hand side of the card.

I added a birthday sentiment to the right hand side of the card.

My second card is fairly similar to the first except that I used different colors. The bird and frame were die cut using black cardstock and I then added Gold Metallic Rub Ons over all the black cardstock for a more antique look.

I used alcohol inks in yellow/orange and red for my background.

For the inside of the card I just added the white rectangle panel and added the same birthday sentiment I used on my first card.
