For my card today I am sharing a Christmas card I created two of the new die sets from the November release ... the Parcel Pop-up die set and the presents from the Gift Pivot Panels die set. You can find Karen Burniston's assembly video for the Parcel Pop-up die set here.

I just love the new Parcel Pop-up die set and there are so many ways that this can be used. After playing with it for the first time, I had the idea of turning the parcel into a chimney with Santa coming down/up it. Of course I couldn't do anything else until this idea was out of my head.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action

I started by creating a top folding card from red cardstock which measured 5 inches x 4 3/4 inches.

I then created a night sky for the top panel by blending Faded Jeans & Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink over a panel of white cardstock. Once I had added the ink, I used some white paint to add splatters all over the background to represent snow.

For the base panel I turned this into the top of the roof. I used the scallop border from the Tropical Scenes die set to die cut some grey cardstock 4 times and some white cardstock that had double sided adhesive tape on the front. I added Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to the adhesive. I then positioned the grey scallop panels evenly to another piece of grey cardstock and finally the glittered scallops.

I die cut the parcel mechanism from the Parcel Pop-up die set from red cardstock and added it to the inside of the card.

For the chimney, I die cut the largest square from the Parcel Pop-up die set, and used a brick stencil and red ink to add the brick pattern. I die cut the top of the box from white cardstock which had Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the front and cover the adhesive with glitter. I then adhered this to the top of the chimney..

I pulled out some really old stamps for Santa, the reindeer and Santa's sack ... these are probably 20/25 years old! I wanted a Santa that would pretty much fill the chimney and this is what I found in my stash, but there are many newer ones that would work available.

I added a speech bubble to Santa's and added the "Ho Ho Ho". The speech bubble is from the Square Spinner die set and the sentiment is from an Altenew stamp set.

I added some presents using the dies from the Gift Pivot Panels die set and added them to the left side of the card.

Finally I added the Merry Christmas to the card which is from the Word Set 3 - Holiday die set and two more presents above and below the word "Christmas".

I kept the front of the card simple, seeing the focus is on the inside of the card. I replicated the chimney, this time without Santa inside it. Instead I added a silhouette of Santa and his reindeers in the night sky above the chimney ... he is either flying away or flying to the chimney :).

I added the sentiment the bottom of the card which is from a Mama Elephant stamp set.

Well that is about it from me today, thank you for dropping by. To continue on the blog hop, click on the next person on the list which is the fabulous Karen Aicken!
