Jugs & Kisses

Hi Crafty Friends,

My daughter recently informed me that her dog, Frankie the Pug had been invited to a birthday party for a friend ... another dog. The dog having the birthday is a Jug which apparently is a cross between a Jack Russell and a Pug.

I had recently purchased Whimsy Stamps February 2020 Card Kit which contained a Pug themed stamp set (the main reason I purchased the kit), so of course I pulled the card kit out to create a birthday card for the Jug.

I have seen a lot of shaped shaker cards recently, so as the die set included in the kit contained two different sized paw dies which were suitable for this style of card I decided to use the smaller paw to create a shaker card of my own. I wanted to include two paw prints, which is why I decided to use the smaller paw.

Apparently the dog is black which is why I decided to create black paws.

I used the Hugs & Kisses dies included in the die set to create the sentiment "Jugs & Kisses" cutting off the "H" from the word hugs and using a letter "t" from another sentiment included in the set, trimming off the crossbar of the "t" and turning it upside to make it a "J".

I used the heart cluster die included in the die set to add the hearts to the top right hand corner of the card and to add to the letter "i" in the word kisses.

The bone patterned paper is also included in the kit.

The rounded rectangle dies are from Hero Arts Rounded Rectangles Infinity die set.

For the inside of the card I added a smaller rounded rectangle to the centre of the card for my sentiments. I added the "woof woof woof" and "translation:" from Lawn Fawn's Critter Chatter stamp set. The "Yappy Birthday" is from the Pet's Woof stamp set included in the Whimsy Stamps card kit.

I added the bones around the border of the card which is also included in the stamp set. This card kit is out of stock, however I noticed when I was looking for a link for this kit, that Whimsy Stamps have released some of the stamps and die sets individually some time later. So if you are after any of these products you may be able to purchase in a few months time.
