Rain or Shine

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Nicky Foden our challenge hostess for the month, finishes off the month with one last challenge.

April showers bring May flowers, make a card with rain or a rainbow on it.

For this card I am using another of the Hello Bluebird scenic dies I purchased recently. I really don't know what took me so long to get these, I just ordered a few more and some stamps sets for my upcoming birthday.

The die I used for this card is called Winter Woods Overlay and comes with a snowman and accessories for building the snowman to go in the middle of the scene. But this die set can be used in so many different ways. I die cut the overlay using white cardstock and colored the trees using Copic markers. I then die cut some grass from green cardstock using the grass die included in the Pond Builder die set, also from Hello Bluebird. I wanted my trees to be full of leaves, so I used the cloud die included in Elizabeth Craft Designs Adventure Edges 2 die set to create the trees greenery.

As I was using critters wearing raincoats and a "Rain or Shine" sentiment, I layered the scene onto some raindrop patterned paper from Honey Bee Stamps Over The Rainbow Paper Pad.

The sentiment and critters are from Craftin' Desert Diva's Rainy Days stamp set, this is another of the stamp sets I ordered before this company went out of business last year.

For the inside of the card, I used Lawn Fawn's Pop-up Hello & Oliver's Stitched ABCs to create the pop-up portion of the card. As the challenge mentioned rainbows, I added the letters on the word "Hello" in rainbow colors.

I added one of the characters to the pop-up panel and a sentiment to the grassy area on the base of the card.

Here is another photo of the inside of my card, taken at a different angle so you can see the pop-up portion of the card a little easier.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
