Seeing Red!

PNC-DearFriends1-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s time again for another Karen Burniston Designer Challenge, the theme for November is Crafting RED with Stitched Framelits.  We were to make any type of project using Karen Burniston dies that uses Red as a predominant color in the piece.

I had such fun with this challenge that I ended up creating three projects … two I will share with you today and the third I will share tomorrow (which if you are in the US will really be tonight anyway LOL!)

For my first project today I have created a pop n cuts card … using the Sizzix Pop N Cuts A2 Card Base. I decorated my card using La La Land Crafts Sunny Christmas Marci.

I used the largest label from the Sizzix Sassy Labels & Stitched Frames Framelits to layer my image. The stitching is an optional step you can add when using this die … but I love the effect the stitching adds.

Along the right edge of my card I used the negative piece left over from the Sizzix Label Trellis Sizzlits die (you will see this used as it should be on the inside of my card).

Here is the inside of my card. I have used the Sizzix Pop N Cuts Sassy Label Insert along with the Sizzix Sassy Labels & Stitched Frames Framelits.

To decorate the top and bottom parts of my card I used the Sizzix Label Trellis Sizzlits border using three different colors and also adding some rhinestones.

Here is one more look at the inside of my card.

Stamps: Sunny Christmas Marci – La La Land Crafts; To Deer Friends – Darcies
Paper: White; Red; Blue; Light Blue; Elf Magic DP – Bo Bunny; Gingerbread DP – Kaisercraft
Sizzix Dies: PNC A2 Card Base; PNC Sassy Labels Insert; Sassy Labels & Stitched Frames Framelits; Label Trellis Sizzlits
Other: Black Ink; Rhinestones; Red Hemp Cord; Glitter; Foam Tape; Copic

For my second card today I decided to use the Sizzix Labels & Stitched Frames Framelits to create a Shaped folded card.

to create this I first folded my white card in half and placed this so the fold was on the inside of the cutting edge of the largest label die in this set. I then cut another using red card and also used the stitched frame which is also included in this set.

To decorate my card I added the Fizzy Moon image and along the left edge added a border from the Sizzix Banners & Borders Thinlits. I added white gel pen to all my stitched lines.

Here is the inside of my card. I die cut a smaller red label and added the stitching again. The Sentiment is stamped onto a piece die cut using the fishtail label from the Sizzix Banners & Borders Thinlits.

If you are looking to purchase Karen’s Sizzix Pop N Cuts in Australia you can find them at Photo Continental.

Don’t forget to check out the Sizzix blog on Thursday when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month.

You are amazing, Frances! I adore both cards and I love your special touches, like the way you styled the Label Trellis border strip and the gel pen on the stitching. Love your work!

Super cute cards, I like how you used the border trims in different ways on both cards.

Oh Francis - your projects are great. I ADORE the images you used, and you know I'm a fan of your colouring. Such a great use of the Pop 'n Cut dies, as well as the Stitched Framelits.
Haha, now every time I look at that circle label die though, I'm seeing OLIVES.
Cheers
