You Color My World

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Raquel Mason our challenge hostess for the month finishes off her month with one last challenge.

Back to School - All the summer fun has come to an end for teachers and students. Let's make a card to help cheer someone up, any cheerful theme or image will do.

I decided to take the opportunity to create a teacher thank you card. I need a few for my grandchildren's teachers for the end of year.

I have seen lots of rainbows around the place lately so I decided to also create a rainbow card. I started by using a border from My Favorite Things, my Stampers Anonymous Stamping Platform and Distress Oxide inks to create my background in rainbow order. 

I have been wanting to use my old Pop 'N Cuts dies a little bit more, so I also pulled out the Thanks insert and the Square with Ornate Edge die to create the pop up part of my card. I tried a few ways to add the letters "Thanks"  to the top of the pop up which I didn't like until I decided to use the same inks as I had for the background to create the rainbow "thanks" ... much better. 

I added the sentiment and crayons from Lawn Fawn's Color My World stamp set.

Here is another look at the inside of my card, taken at a different angle so you can see the pop up part of the card a little better.

For the front of my card I added another rainbow background that I created with the border stamp and added the #1 teacher from Papertrey Ink and a few more crayons.

Go Wild!

Hi everyone,

I have another Sizzix Label Window Card to share with you today. As I had the dies on my desk from the card I shared with you all yesterday, I decided to keep it out and create another card. This time round I used the Sizzix Pop N Cuts Base Card to add the Label Window insert in to die cut my card.

This time around I have used the Gerda Steiner Go Wild Stamp set which I have been wanting to use for a while now. The Giraffe that is sitting behind the driver is a little long for this card, but I wanted to keep it in the scene, so I made it work. Doesn't it look like they are all having fun on their safari!

Here you can see the inside of the card. I added one of the sentiments included in the stamp set to the small label on the right hand side of the card, fortunately it just fitted on the label. I also added another of the elephant images.

Owl Be Home For Christmas

Hi everyone,

I recently found this cute new stamp set from Stampendous which as you can see I decided I needed. Of course I needed yet another owl stamp set haha! 

For my card today I decided to revisit an old die set .... Karen Burniston's Pop N Cuts Label Window card. I haven't pulled these out to play for over three years and I was reminded what fun they were when I was browsing Pinterest recently and came upon a card of mine I had created using these dies. 

Here is a look at the inside of my card, I added the baby owl to the tiny label on the inside and added a Christmas sentiment to the side.

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Being a brand new month it is time to introduce our new challenge hostess which is Joanne.

Let’s add to our Thanksgiving/Fall card stash by creating cards of thanks using the traditional colors of the season. For those of you ‘down under’ you may certainly make Spring creations expressing thanks.

Seeing I am the one living 'down under' that Joanne was referring to, I decided to go that route rather than fall. I kept my card fairly simple this time round letting the die and designer paper do all the work.

As you can see I created a pop up card and I used one of Karen Burniston's older Pop N Cuts dies from Sizzix which have since been retired.

Here is my card again, this time at a different angle so you can see the pop up portion of the card.

And finally the front of my card, I used the Card Base Pop Up which was exclusive to Stampin' Up also designed by Karen Burniston.

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time again over on the Riley and Company blog.  This time round our challenge is hosted by Joy. 

With Valentine's Day only a few weeks away, Joy has challenged us to create a card which features a Love theme.

As I don't really give Valentine Cards to anyone, I decided to create a card which would be suitable to give to someone who was celebrating an Anniversary; Engagement or Wedding.

I used Riley and Company's Marty & Mary on the front of my card,

As you can see I have created a pop up card using one of Karen Burniston's older Sizzix Pop N Cuts dies ... this one uses the Love Insert. 

I have also used Riley and Company's Congratulations sentiment on the bottom panel of my card.

Born to Be Wild

Hi everyone,

I recently found this cute Penny Black Hedgehog stamp while visiting my daughter who was on holidays down at Yamba in NSW. My DH and I decided to spend New Years Eve with them and found a place that sold stamps while we were checking out the town … go figure hehe!

As you can see I decided to make a Pop N Cuts card using Sizzix dies designed by Karen Burniston.

For the base of my card I used the Sizzix Pop N Cuts Square Card with Ornate edge. The flourish at the bottom of my card is also included in this die.

For the sentiment I used the Sizzix Wavy Label Framelits for the layering.

For the inside of my card I used the Sizzix Pop N Cuts Sassy Labels Insert and also the Sizzix Edge & Scroll Die. I added some white lines to the grey card so that it resembled a road.

Happy New Year!

Hello everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. After our break for a couple of weeks, it’s exciting to be back for another year of fun  challenges. Hosting our challenges for January is Sarah Gough.

To start of the year/month, Sarah has given us an Inspiration Challenge using the photo below.

For my inspiration I used the colors … black/white/silver/and grey (the dots) and the banner saying Happy New Year to create a New Years card. Oh and let’s not forget the stars too! As soon as I saw this photo my mind starting going to the Karen Burniston's Sizzix Pop N Cuts Star insert so of course I had to make a Pop Up Card !

For the front of my card I used the stars from the Sizzix Party Set #2 Sizzlits and die cut the stars from Silver Glitter card and black card. I added the number dies which are from Taylored Expressions to create 2014.



For the inside of my card I used the Sizzix Pop N Cuts A2 Card Base along with the Sizzix Pop N Cuts Star Insert.  I added the stars and swirls from the Sizzix Party Set #2 Sizzlits.

For the banner at the top and bottom of the card I used The Stamps of Life’s Alpha4Banners stamp set and the coordinating die which is in the Banners Die set.



The star is a little different to most of the other inserts in that it opens up flat as you can see in the photo above.



Here is a close up of the front of the inside of my card.



And finally a close up of the back of the inside of my card. yes it is upside down that way you can also see the reverse of the star which is the same as the front.

BTW did you know that Karen Burniston will now be designing dies in conjunction with Elizabeth Craft Designs. I have seen sneak peeks of a few of the new dies and they are AMAZING!!!
