Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas!

KBDecChristmasDay1a-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s time again for another Karen Burniston Designer Challenge, the theme for December is a Pop 'n Cuts Anything Goes theme. Each designer will be featuring a different pop ‘n cuts insert so there will be plenty of inspiration!!!!

For my card today I decided to use the Sizzix Pop ‘N Cuts Chair insert to create a Christmas themed card.

Let’s start with the front of my card. For this I used the Sizzix House Thinlits set to create the house.  This does coordinate with the Pop ‘N Cuts House Insert but it is also great to use on it’s own! I also love the embossed detail you can get with this die. I also found a cute wreath stamp I had which fits perfectly on the door. For the sentiment (from Waltzing Mouse Stamps Christmas Cottage stamp set), I used the fishtail flags banner from the Sizzix Banners & Borders Thinlits set.

The snow on the ground and also on the roof was created using White Glitter card.

When you first get this card you see the house on the outside and once you open it up … it reveals part of a room on the inside and if you look at the date on the calendar it is Christmas morning … it looks like some presents have been unwrapped but some are still under the tree for someone who is yet to arrive Smile.

As I said earlier for the inside I have used the Sizzix Pop N Cuts Chair insert along with the Sizzix Pop N Cuts A2 Card base. Behind the chair you can see the Christmas Tree which is the Sizzix Tim Holtz Bigz Pine Tree.

On the chair you can see the left over box which once hid a present.

Here is a close up photo of the chair and the tree.

My card needed some furniture behind the chair so for this I used the Sizzix Foyer Embossing Folder Set to emboss and cut out by hand the side table. You one see part of it as that is all I needed having the tree on the other side. I also used the picture frame to help highlight the calendar. On the side table I have added some Christmas cards.

On the “floor” portion of my card I added the mat which is also from the Sizzix Foyer Embossing Folder set. The sentiment on the mat has been stamped onto one of the labels from the Sizzix Labels Thinlits set and then I have cut off the top and bottom of the label so it was all the one width.

If you are looking to purchase Karen’s Sizzix Pop N Cuts in Australia you can find them at Photo Continental.

Don’t forget to check out the Sizzix blog on Thursday when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month. I will also be back tomorrow with another Pop ‘N Cuts card using another insert.

LOVE it! Love all the thought and detail you put into this card Frances ... wow! Putting the table off the side of the card and adding the tree? So clever. Also, I adore the way you used Karen's House Thinlits on the front of the card.
Wonderful card!!
Cheers

OMG! I had the same reaction as Karen A. - the use of only part of the table with the cards on top - brilliant! I love absolutely everything about this card, Frances. It's amazing!

Great card & if I look at it longer I'll find even more things to be impressed with - the details are wonderful. Love the little cards on the side table.
