Mouse Birthday Wiper Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Kelly Santi our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Next week is National Smoke and Mirrors Day! This celebration is based on magicians’ illusions, where magicians make objects appear or disappear with retracting mirrors and confusing bursts of smoke.  Wave your magic wands and create a card with a surprise element!

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

I recently discovered Crafter's Companion Edge'able Word Dies and had been seeing lots of fun things that can be done with them, so I had to add some to my stash. These dies cut the word out of your cardstock, leaving the bottom of the sentiment attached to the card. One of the things which these can be used for is to create Wiper Cards which is what I created for our challenge today.

To decorate my card I used MFT Stamps It's a Mice Time to Celebrate Clear Stamp set. As you can see by the video above when you pull the card the mouse in the gift box behind the sentiment pops up from where it had been hiding.

I used one of the "wiper arms" from the Mama Elephant Wiper Surprise die set to hold the mouse that pops up and down.

As I had an extra mouse stamps, colored and cut out I decided to add it to the back of my card which gives a place for a hand written sentiment.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Wow, Frances, your cards every week are amazing, and your technical skills superb, and this week that video put this card in motion for us. I love that little pop up mouse. Your cards are always like little miniature circuses, full of surprises as you open the card. So delightful, surprising, and fun!

Hi Karen, For a wiper card it is just a matter of cutting and scoring. If you check out Wiper cards on Youtube you should find a tutorial, they are pretty simple.
