Just Sitting Here

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Vicky Gould our challenge hostess for July, continues to issue the challenges.

Vicky tells us .... If you’re like her, you have lots of stencils.  Vicky has a drawer full that I never think of.  Get one of those out that you haven’t used (or haven’t used in ages) and put it to good use.

Altenew recently released 5 new stencils which I was able to add to my stash. I have already used two of them and posted them on my blog, but I was looking at the others and noticed that one of the other stencils (Broken Chevrons Stencil), looked like a parquet floor. I had already found something similar in patterned paper, that I had planned to use together with Karen Burniston's new Family Room Pop-up die set, but when I realised I had the stencil I opted to use that instead. I used the stencil with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink creating two panels to add to the inside of my navy card base.

To decorate my card I used the Family Room Pop-up die set adding an oval from the Ovals - Crosshatch die set to resemble a carpet/mat.

I added the little kids from Lawn Fawn's Screen Time stamp set, which work perfect with the couch and chair. I added the game box beside the boy on the couch and both the girl and boy are holding controls.

I decided to add the TV to the lower left hand corner of the card. This is from the Memory Charms die set.

Here is an overhead view of my card, so you can see the whole of the inside of the card at once. I added the "thinking of you" sentiment from the Thinking of You die set in the upper right hand corner of my card.

For the front of the card I replicated some of the elements from the inside of the card. I used the couch dies from the Family Room Pop-up die set to make a flat couch for the front. I added a moustache wallpaper background and the stencilled parquet floor.

I also added the boy and the game box to the card.

To finish off the front of the card, I added the "just sitting here" sentiment which is also included in the Thinking of You die set.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:
