Winterberry Poinsettia

 

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing four Christmas cards I created using products from Altenew.

For this card I used the Winterberry 3D Embossing Folder & coordinating stencils. I figured while I have all the inks etc out I might as well make 4 as one, after all I need to make a number of cards to send out each Christmas.

Here is a close up of my card. After stencilling the card, I added gold splatter to the card.

For the sentiments I found some already made gold glimmer foiled Christmas sentiments. I had two of each type of sentiments, so I used those on these cards. 

This is the same card as the one above, just the sentiment is differed. Two say "Season's Greetings" and the other two say "Merry Christmas".

I kept the inside fairly simple, added a red strip that I also gold splattered to the bottom of the card.

I also stamped a Christmas sentiment in gold to the top portion of the card. This is an older stamp set from my stash.

Pink Poinsettia

Today I am sharing two A6 Christmas cards I created using products from Altenew.

To create the poinsettia I used Altenew’s Lush Botanicals: Poinsettia Die set & 3D Embossing Folder. 

I added a textured background using Spellbinders July 2026 3D Embossing Folder of the Month … Festive Greetings.

The sentiment is from the Merry Messages Betterpress Plate which i foiled with gold glimmer foil.

I stamped an older Christmas sentiment to the inside of my card using gold ink.

Just Swan To Say Hello

Today I am sharing a 5 x 7 stencilled card I created recently.

For this card, the swan image has been stencilled, using the Swan Serenade Stencil set from Altenew. After adding all the ink to through the various layers, I trimmed it down so it would fit on a 5 x 7 card base.

For the card base I took a piece of pink cardstock and embossed it using Spellbinders Woven 3D Embossing Folder, which I then swiped with white pigment ink.

To finish off the card I added a "swan" themed sentiment which is from Waffle Flower Crafts.

For the inside of the card I added another sentiment and the left over panel of embossed cardstock to the bottom edge.

Hummingbird Slimline Centre Step

About 12 years ago I did a tutorial for Splitcoast Stampers on how to make a Centre Step Card. It was my very first video tutorial I had ever made. Since then I have made many Centre Step Cards and now have a number of different die sets that help make them. You can find my tutorial here.  Last month, Dina Kowal came up with a Slimline version of this style of card and included it in the Splitcoast Stampers Newsletter, the converted measurements are at the end of my original tutorial, if you are interested in giving it a go.

It's been a long time since I have made a Centre Step Card without the use of a die, but of course I had to make one. I cut my Centre Step from white cardstock. 

As you can see, I decided not to add layers to my card except for the two cloud layers at the bottom of my card. I used Spellbinders' Hummingbird and Lily die set to decorate my card which includes dies to create the hummingbird, lily and cloud. The cloud die is a little shorter than the width of my card, so I just did a little careful die cutting.

I added Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink to add details to the card base and clouds.

For the sentiment, I used Altenew''s Everyday Sentiments Hot Foil Set, foiling the sentiment using black foil. I added the circle sentiment to the bottom of my card, trimming off the overhanging portion of the circle.

To finish off the card, I added clear dew drops randomly around the card.

For the inside of the card, I added a few more of the lily buds and a sentiment using a stamp set from Card Making Magic.

Layered Rose Sympathy

I love making cards, but the occasion I dislike having to make are sympathy cards. However from time to time we need them. I normally like to have a few in reserve for the times I need them, but as I used all I had last year I need to create some new ones. I plan to make at least one a month and hopefully I won't need to use them.

For my card today I used some new products from Honey Bee Stamps. For the background I used the Lace A2 Cover Plate with coordinating Layered Lace Layering Stencil Set. I don't make a lot of A2 sized cards lately as I prefer Slimline more, however as soon as I saw this set I knew I needed it!

The rose also uses a Honey Bee Stamps die set using the Lovely Layers:Roses die set.

For the sympathy sentiment I used Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil stamp set ... Mini Everyday Sentiments, as I wanted the solid black panel with a white sentiment I also used Pinkfresh Studios Solid Hot Foil Plate.

For the inside of the card, I added a border using the Lace A2 Cover Plate with coordinating Layered Lace Layering Stencil Set. 

I added two sympathy sentiments using Altenew's In My Thoughts stamp set.

Back in November, I needed a couple of sympathy cards fairly quickly. This is one of the cards I created. As I had so many Christmas cards to post in November and December, I decided to hold off posting this  until now.

The flowers are from Divinity Designs Beautiful Blossoms Paper/Die Duos Set 3 which was included in the April 2021 Blessings Box. These flowers are all pre-colored and come with a die to die cut all the images so you can use them however you want to decorate your cards. Being pre-colored it makes it so much quicker to use to create a card in a hurry.

For the background of my card I used Catherine Pooler's Quilted Cover Plate. I die cut this from white cardstock and then layered onto a green panel and then finally onto a top folding pink card base.

The sentiments stamped onto my card are from Altenew's In My Thoughts stamp set.

For the inside of my card I added another of the flowers that I used on the front of the card.

The "With Sympathy" is from Karen Burniston's With Sympathy die set.

Pinecone Christmas

Today I am sharing a Christmas themed Slimline card I created recently. 

This card uses the Altenew Classic Pinecones Slim Embossing Folder to create a textured background. I die cut a piece of green cardstock using the Picket Fence Studios Slimline Nested Rectangles die set. I then inked the embossing folder using gold pigment ink and added my die cut card panel into the embossing folder and ran through my die cutting machine. I sponged on Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink over all of the pinecones. Finally I swiped a white pigment ink pad over the entire card.

I layered the card onto a card rectangle panel and then onto a top folding red slimline card base.

I die cut Karen Burniston's Merry Christmas die set from gold and red cardstock and layered together, offsetting slightly and added this to the lower right hand corner of the card. I added a few red pearls around the sentiment.

For the inside of the card, I added another embossed card panel to the left side of my card. I added a Christmas sentiment on the right hand panel.

Seas The Day

Today I am sharing two Mini Slimline cards I created recently.

My cards using the new Altenew Abstract Seascape Slim Cover Die, this die isn't the normal Slimline size and measures 2 3/4 inches x 6 3/4 inches which is more the size for a Mini Slimline.

I sandwiched two layers of cardstock together using double sided adhesive tape and then adhered another layer of tape on the top layer of cardstock. I then removed the adhesive tape from each of the different areas and covered the adhesive with Silk Microfine Glitter from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

As you can see I created two cards one with a daytime sky and the other a more night time sky.

I added birds to the sky area on both skies using a die from Couture Creations. 

For the sentiments I used Honey Bee Stamps Mermaid Song Stamp set.

For the inside of my card I added another "Sea" themed sentiment using another of the sentiments from the Mermaid Song Stamp set.

I also added the Figure 8 knot to my card which is another die from Couture Creations.

In This Time Of Loss

I recently needed to make a sympathy card to send to a friend, so this is what I came up with.

I used Pinkfresh Studio's Miss Your Smile stamp/stencil set to create the flowers on my card. I used the stencils first to add the colors and then over stamped the design using the coordinating stamp.

 I used Picket Fence Studios' Slimline Nested Rectangles to die cut the panel with the flowers. I then layered this to a black rectangle and finally a top folded pink slimline card.

For the sentiment I used one from an Altenew stamp set ... In My Thoughts.

For the inside of my card, I used the stencils and stamp again to create just the top portion of the flower that I used on my front of my card, so that it was on the right side of my Slimline card.

I added Karen Burniston's With Sympathy die set to add the sentiment.

 

Red and Gold Foiled Slimline

Today I am sharing a Gold Foiled Slimline card I created recently.

For the background of my card I used Spellbinders Slimline Confetti Background Glimmer Hot Foil Stamp set with gold foil onto red cardstock. I foiled one end of my red cardstock panel with the hot foil plate and then the other end. I die cut the panel into a Slimline panel using a stitched slimline die from Picket Fence Studios.

I layered the red panel onto a gold scalloped rectangle panel which was die cut using another Slimline die set from Picket Fence Studios. This was then layered onto a top folding white slimline card base.

I used the smaller die included in Altenew's Slim Deco Cover Plate die set, which I die cut from Gold Mirror Cardstock.

The sentiment is gold foiled using Spellbinders More Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Stamps set.

I embellished the frame using an older dragonfly die set from Elizabeth Craft Designs. The dragonflies are glittered using Elizabeth Craft Designs Desert Gold Silk Microfine Glitter.

For the inside of the card, I gold foiled a thin strip of cardstock to use along the bottom edge of my card. I used the Scalloped Slimline die from Picket Fence Studios that I used on the front of the card along the top edge of the red panel.

I used the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from Spellbinders Essential Glimmer Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Stamp set to gold foil a piece of white cardstock. I die cut the sentiment using the sentiment die from Spellbinders Slimline Classic die set.

Thinking of You

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Being a brand new month it's time to introduce a new challenge hostess which is ME!!!!!!

Did you know that the 3rd of April is Find a Rainbow Day. For our challenge this week, include a rainbow of some type on your card either a rainbow image or rainbow colors … whichever you prefer.

Over the past few months or so I have acquired a number of Slimline Stencils which I have been wanting to play with, so for my card today I decided to pull out one of them. This one is from Picket Fence Studios and is called Slim Line Waves Stencil.

I used Catherine Pooler inks in rainbow colors/order to add the color to my cardstock. I then used Picket Fence Studios Slim Line Die Cutting System die set to die cut my layers and adhered my panels to a top folding Slimline card that measures 3 3/4 inches x 8 3/4 inches.

I added the "Thinking of You" sentiment stamp/die which is from Altenew's Mega Greetings 2 stamp set and the Mega You die. 

To finish off the front of the card I added some clear drops randomly over the card.

For the inside of my card I created a pop-up card. I used the same stencil and inks I used on the front of the card to decorate the edges of my card.

I used Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set to add the pop-up mechanism. The "get well sentiment" is also a Karen Burniston die set called Get Well Charms.
