August 2019 Karen Burniston Designer Challenge

Hi Crafty Friends!!!

Welcome to our August Karen Burniston Designer Challenge.

Check out Karen Burniston's blog on Wednesday (US Time) when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month, plus Karen will have an amazing video tutorial to share with us all.

Our challenge theme this month is .... "FUN ON THE FARM" - use the Barn Pop Stand and farm-related dies

Recently when I was making another pop-up card using the Family Room Pop-up die set, I was searching for pattern paper to use on the couch/chair. While looking I saw the new Doodlebug Designs Down on the Farm Paper Pad and I thought it would be fun to use this with the cow die to create an inside scene.

This is a little fantasy ... it's supposed to inside of the barn. These cows are living in style!!!!

The couch/chair has paisley print fabric and the cushions and lamp have cow print designs.

I added an oval using the Ovals - Crosshatch to resemble a rug/mat in front of the furniture.

Here you can see an overhead shot of my card, so you can see everything on the inside of the card. I added the "Home Sweet Home" sentiment to the upper left and lower right hand corners of the card.

The black & white gingham paper is die cut using the Rectangles - Crosshatch die set.

I added two cows to the inside of the card. One is standing in front of the chair, so it pop-ups up when the card is opened. The second I placed on the lower left hand corner of the card.

Seeing the inside of the card is supposed to be the inside of the barn, I decided to add the barn to the front of the card. Of course the barn is from the Barn Pop Stand die set. I used the Farm Edges, to die cut the green cardstock which creates the tractor in the top right hand side of the card.

The barn doors open, to reveal a cow that is peeking out from inside of the barn and we also have a cow or maybe it is a bull seeing it is wearing the hat on the right side of the barn. The hat and pitchfork (on the left side of the barn) are from Tiny Accessories 3 die set.

To finish off the card, I added the "You're Moo-velous" sentiment from Newton's Nook Designs Moo Stamp set. This is layered onto the fish tail banner from the Triple Flip die set.
