Hello Sweet Friend

Hi Crafty Friends,

Recently my friend, Karen Aicken shared a couple of cards using the Triple Flip Card die set from Karen Burniston. Rather than using them as the Triple Flip, she converted the die cut pieces so that the card had a single flip. I am always looking for different ways to use the dies I own and this was such a clever idea that of course I had to play with this idea. You can see Karen Aicken's cards using the Triple Flip die set on her blog.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

For my card I used Concord & 9th's Cool Treats Turnabout Stamp set and the coordinating die set. I have had the turnabout stamp for a while, but was waiting to get the die set to use with it.

I used four different colors of Catherine Pooler inks, to stamp the turnabout image.

This time around I created a portrait style card rather than a landscape version, which the Triple Flip die set normally creates. I die cut the main die from the Triple Flip die sets and then trimmed of the left hand side (and one of the slots that is on the left side) so it was 4 1/4 inches wide. I then used the centre slot for the flip mechanism.

I used the Ice Block dies from the Cool Treats coordinating die set to create the ice block image which I attached to the front and back of the flip mechanism. I also stamped the verses onto the ice block images prior to attaching to the card using VersaMark ink and White Embossing Powder.

I used a scallop border die to create the border above and below the panel.

The stripes at the top and bottom of the card are also from the Cool Treats Turnabout Stamp set.

For the inside of the card I added a white panel about the same size as the Triple Flip panel on the front and added the Karen Burniston You're Sweet! sentiment and the small ice block from the Cool Treats die set.
