All Aboard, Merry Christmas

All Aboard Crafty Friends!

Welcome to our September Karen Burniston Designer Challenge.

Check out Karen Burniston's blog on Wednesday (US Time) when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month, plus Karen will have an amazing video tutorial to share with us all.

Our challenge theme this month is ....  "ENJOY THE RIDE" - use the Train Pivot Panels or the Rocket Pop-up for a card of any theme.

As you can see by my card, I decided to use the Train Pivot Panels die set to create a Christmas card for our challenge.

I started by die cutting three of the large Crosshatch - Rectangles and then used Distress Oxide inks in Tumbled Glass & Stormy Sky to created the sky background. Once this was done, I then used some white paint and a paint brush to flick white all over the background so it looked like snow.

I die cut two more rectangle panels and used these with the snow border from the Nature Edges die set to create my snowy hills along the bottom of the card.

I die cut the base of the Train Pivot Panel from white cardstock, masked the bottom part of this piece and added color to the top portion of this panel as I did to the rectangles. I then adhered this to the centre of my card.

I die cut the train from red cardstock, adding green trim and black wheels. I then added Santa, presents, trees and an elf using various stamp sets from Mama Elephants (sets are listed in the supply list below).

I used the "Holiday" word from Word Set 3 - Happy Holidays, to add the "Ho Ho Ho" to the top of the pivot panel.

I added a sentiment to the top left hand corner of the card which was die cut using the fishtail flag die from the Triple Flip die set.

I added the train tracks and signal using the Train Elements die set.

I die cut ten trees using the trees from the Evergreen Pivot panels and added two to the right hand side of the inside and five to the left hand side.

I added a few more elves and reindeers randomly to my card.

For the front of the card I repeated a few of the elements I used on the inside.

I added the All Aboard Sentiment, also from the Train Elements die set and also added a Merry Christmas underneath.
