September 2020 Karen Burniston Designer Challenge

Welcome to our September Karen Burniston Designer Challenge.

Check out Karen Burniston's blog on Wednesday (US Time) when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month, plus Karen will have an amazing video tutorial to share with us all.

Our challenge theme this month is ...  "IN THE WILD!" - make a project incorporating an animal made by stacking the Bitty Ball on the Surprise Ball.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

As you can see I used the Bitty Ball and the Surprise Ball to create a lion for my card today. I also used dies from both the Animal Add-On 1 & 2 die sets to add the eyes, nose, whiskers etc.

To create the main, I used the smallest decorative circle from the Crosshatch Circles die set. I die cut a number of them and folded them in half and adhered these around the lion's head so that the one half of the circles were adhered inside the bitty ball. I then die cut a few more of the circles and added them over some of the half circles to give it a fuller look.

I added the tail included in the Animal Add On 2 die set to the back of the elephant.

I used the Alphabet die set to die cut the words "No Lion!" from mustard and black cardstock, offsetting the mustard letters over the black letters slightly and add that to the bottom of the right hand panel.

I decorated the left hand panel of the inside of the card using the tree from the Landscape Scene die set. I also added the word "Wild" from the Go Wild die set, die cutting the word from mustard and black cardstock and offsetting the word. I then used a Lawn Fawn stamp set to add the words "Have A" and "Birthday" above and below the word "Wild.

As the focus of the card is on the inside, I kept the front of the card fairly simple.

To help keep the card closed when needed, I created a belly band. I decorated the belly band by using the Crosshatch Circles die set to create both the orange circle and the sun in the centre. I used the Nature Edges die set for the grass along the bottom of the card and added the tree from the Landscape Scenes die set in the centre of the circle.
