Hope Your Day Shimmers

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to my blog! Well my Spellbinders August Club Kits arrived on Thursday afternoon, so I had a lovely weekend creating a couple of cards using some of the sets.

The theme this month is under water … think fish, mermaids, snorkeling etc. So one of the first things I thought of was a fish tank. I have seen a few people make these using the kit and the Tiered Hexagon is perfect for this idea. Sam Calcott has a number of different sizes of this style of card on her YouTube channel. I created a 5 x 7 version for my card.

For my card, I used the Underwater Waltz 3D Embossing Folder to create the background panels on the back of the fish tank. I used the Beneath the Bubbles Glimmer Plate & Speckled Prism Glimmer Foil to glimmer the acetate that is on the front of the card.

To decorate I added images from both the large & small die sets of the month … Splash Tales & The Deep Blue Two die sets.

The sentiments on the front of this card is also included in the Glimmer set.

For the back of my card, I added a panel to add a sentiment and a place for a personal message. The sentiment used here is from the Clear Stamp of the Month … Paper Splash Stamp set.

Black, White and Gold Hexagon Wedding Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Maryann Einam our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Maryann seems to have weddings on her mind this month .... I wonder why ;)
So for our challenge this week she has requested we create a Wedding card, an Anniversary or a Celebration card in white and black plus one other colour.

Back in February I posted a wedding card that used the Bright Rosa Hexagon Card die set which I liked so I decided to pull out the die set again to make my card today.

I decided to use the colors white and black with my extra color being gold.

I die cut the base of the card in black cardstock, I then used gold pearlescent cardstock to die cut the decorative elements. I die cut the decorative elements a second time, this time from white pearlescent cardstock and filled in a few of the segments that looked like stars/flowers. I also added Gold Glitter Dots Peel Off Stickers to the centre of each of these areas.

I added an image from Craftin Desert Diva's Hitched stamp set to the centre of the card front.

This time around I decided to decorate the left side of the inside of the card as well as the right side. So I added the decorative overlay to this side of the card using gold and white pearlescent cardstock.

I used the hexagon panels included in the die set to add the panels to the right hand side of the card. I added two sentiments, the "Congratulations & Best Wishes" is from Avery Elle's Loads of Wishes stamp set. The sentiment underneath this is from the Craftin Desert Diva's Hitched stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:
