Gnome Way Wiper Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another Wiper Card using Mama Elephant's Wiper Surprise Die set.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

My card started with the Mushroom House from Lawn Fawn. I was debating whether to created a Mushroom House Shaped card or add the mushroom onto a card of some sort. Well on it's own the mushroom house is fairly smallish and I wanted to add a few other elements to my card so I decided to create a wiper card using Mama Elephant's Wiper Surprise die set.

I die cut two white panels from the main die from the Wiper Surprise die. For the back panel I colored the background using various blue Distress Oxide Inks.

For the front panel I used the grass border included in the Lawn Fawn Mushroom Border die set to die cut about half way up the panel. I also place the mushroom border above the grass border so I could adhere that behind the grass. I colored the grass panel using to different green Distress Oxide inks. I then added shading to the mushroom border, die cut the top of the mushrooms from red cardstock and adhered this border behind the grass.

As the Mushroom House was going to hide three of the mushrooms on the Mushroom Border, I cut them off so I could add them to other parts of the card.

Lawn Fawn did release a cute Gnome themed stamp set when they released the Mushroom House etc. However as I already had a number of Gnome stamp sets (one not used until this card was made), I decided not to buy it. The Gnomes added to my card are from a Hunkydory stamp set called Gnome Way! which I think is now discontinued.

I added the gnome which is shovelling dirt to the tab which pops up from behind the mushroom house when you pull the sides of the card.

The  back of the card is a great place to add a panel for a personal handwritten sentiment. I also added  a gnome image and sentiments to this panel.

The gnome, sign & "Love You Gnomie" sentiment are all from the Hunkydory Stamp set and the other sentiment is from SugarPea Designs Gnome Sweet Gnome Stamp set.

Dive Into Adventure

Hi Crafty Friends,

My card today is for a challenge I do with a couple of friends of mine. Each month we challenge each other to create something using supplies we all own.

For our challenge this month we are playing with alcohol inks.

For both cards I used the same four colors of alcohol inks ... Aqua; Pool; Mermaid; Aquamarine onto Yupo paper.

After adding the color to my paper I die cut a square using the Dashing Squares die set.

I then stamped the images onto my card using black ink. The hardest part of this card was the stamping, my black archival ink pad is old and was dry and when I first tried it wasn't very successful even after re-inking. I did try others even purchasing another black ink but none of those gave a clean crisp image on alcohol ink. So I tried my archival again and it worked finally ... the ink must have finally soaked in, although I did have to ink each image more than once to get a decent image. Thank goodness for the MISTI.

On the inside I added a few more stamped images from two of the stamp sets I was using for these card which are from Hunkydory.

For my second card I decided to play with a new freebie die I received from a magazine I purchased .... Enjoy Today Flip Flop Die Set by Tonic Studios.

I like how easy this was to turn from a flip flop card to a stand up card.

Here is a look at the who panel on the card base. The "Sea You Soon" sentiment is embossed using white embossing powder onto black cardstock and is from a Lawn Fawn stamp set.

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Liz Williams our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

“Baby, it’s cold outside!!” Use an image showing a winter garment.

It has been sometime since I have created a block card and when I used to make them I had a lot of measuring and cutting to do. Fortunately I recently discovered a die from Spellbinders which creates this style of card, so my daughter got it for me for Christmas.

To decorate my card I decided to use this cute bear which even has a couple of winter sweaters which is from a freebie stamp set from a magazine I got sometime before Christmas. The magazine is Creative Stamping Issue 50, the stamp set is designed by Hunkydory and comes with a number of different critters and winter clothing, sentiments etc. As one of the sentiments in the stamp set was the theme of this challenge ... of course I had to use it.

Here is a look at the back of my block card. I added a birthday sentiment, also included in the stamp set, the present and some snowflake buttons. I have also added snowflake buttons to the top of the card.

Here is another view of my card taken at an angle, so you can see how the card looks.

And of course it folds flat so you can pop it in an envelope to mail to the recipient if needed.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:
