Delft Windmill

CCEE1408DelftWindmill-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Vicky Gould our challenge hostess for February continues to bring us fun challenges.

This week Vicky has challenged us to another Technique Challenge … Delft Tile. You can find a tutorial on this technique in the Tutorial Section of SCS.

For my card this week I created I used a Stampendous image that I have had for a number of years which I thought would be perfect for this technique. I have done something similar to this some years ago, but I think this is slightly different.

CCEE1408DelftWindmill2-wm

Here is the inside of my card. I stamps part of the windmill stamp again in the bottom right hand corner of my card and added a sentiment to the top left hand side.

    You’re A Hoot!

    Older&Wiser-wm

    Hi everyone!

Last week during our Karen Burniston Designer Challenge, Karen shared with everyone a technique on how to double the height of the Katie Label Pivot Card which allows us to use larger images when using this die. You can find Karen’s Video Tutorial on this technique here.

Ever since then I have been wanting to try out this technique, and finally on the weekend I got a chance to sit down and create a card using this technique … such a fun technique!!!!

As I had a new owl stamp needing to be used and some feather designer paper which I had purchased last week to use with some of my owl stamps, it wasn’t hard to decide what I would use to create this card. The owl used here is from Whiff of Joy.

    Older&Wiser2-wm

For my card I have used the Karen Burniston/Elizabeth Craft Designs Katie Label Pivot Card; Fancy Label Accordion Card and the Agatha Edges die sets as per Karen’s video.

The Agatha Edges help hid the fold in the designer paper as do the layers created by using the Fancy Label Accordion dies on the pivot section of the card.

     Older&Wiser3-wm

Here is a look at the back of the card.

Thanks Karen for another FUN tutorial!!!!

    You Make Me Grin!

    Riley1414-Alice2-wm

    Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time again over on the Riley and Company blog. This time round our challenge hostess is Michele.

For our challenge this week Michele has challenged us to Create a card with coordinating envelope.

    Riley1414-Alice6-wm

For my card this week I decided to use Riley and Company’s Sophie in Wonderland; The Moosehatter and You always make me grin to create an accordion card.

For the accordion portion of the card I used the Pop It Ups Fancy Label Accordion Card die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Crafts Designs. For the frames around each panel I used the Fancy Frame Edges die set using two of the dies from this set.

    Riley1414-Alice3-wm

Here is a close up of the first two panels of my Accordion card … I love these fun images from Riley and Company Smile.

    Riley1414-Alice4-wm

And another close up this time of the end panels.

    Riley1414-Alice-wm

And here is what my card looks like from the front when it is closed up ready to be placed in an envelope.

    Riley1414-Alice7-wm

And speaking of envelopes, we were supposed to include a matching envelope with our card for this challenge so here is a close up of my envelope. I stamped Sophie in Wonderland in the bottom left hand corner of my card and also added some frame edging using the Pop It Ups Fancy Frame Edges die set.

    Butterfly Wishes

    PIUPeachBfly-wm

    Hi everyone,

For my card today I have created a Pivot card using Karen Burniston's Butterfly Pivot Card die from her Pop it Ups for Elizabeth Craft Designs. This die set comes with the butterfly pivot die to create the pivot card itself and five decorator pieces … which are the butterfly pieces on the centre of the pivot butterflies.

I recently found this pretty butterfly designer paper when shopping with friends which was the inspiration of this card.

On the right hand side of my card I used one of the edges from the Agatha Edges die set to create the shaped edge. I also added the flourish which is also included in this die set.

    PIUPeachBfly2-wm

Here is the inside of my card. I added some strips of the butterfly designer paper on the inside and also added the butterfly pieces to the pivot butterfly section.

The sentiment is an old one I have had from Impression Obsession which has been layered using the labels from the Katie Label Pivot Card die set.

    PIUPeachBfly4-wm

Here is the back view of my card. No matter which side someone looks at first they are going to see something of interest. That is something I like about the Pivot cards Smile

And finally a look from the top of my card.

    Hi There

    CarvedBirdCircleAccordion2-

    Hi everyone,

I have another Accordion card to share with you today using the Circle Accordion Die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Crafts Designs. This time round my accordion card has three panels.

To decorate my card I used Darkroom Door’s Carved Birds Set 1 stamp set.

    CarvedBirdCircleAccordion3-

On the left hand panel I used the coordinating Square W/Circle Frame Edges die set, this set has 3 different frame dies you can use to decorate your circle accordion cards … my favorite is the dots frame!

    CarvedBirdCircleAccordion4-

On the centre panel after die cutting the accordion panel I left the card in the die and sent it back through my Sizzix Big Shot using the embossing sandwich so that the stitching around the frame embossed onto my card. I then used some ink to sponge the stitching while the die was still in place.

And finally on the right hand panel I used designer paper and used the Accordion Circle Die again and then trimmed out the circle from the centre and adhered this over my card.

    CarvedBirdCircleAccordion-

And here is my accordion card seen from the front when it is closed ready to be mailed. I have again used the circle frame from the coordinating Square W/Circle Frame Edges die set to decorate the front panel.

    It’s ‘Crazy’ Sketch Time!

    C4C223BikeBoy-wm

    Hello everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  Our challenge hostess for February, Kristine continues to bring us fun challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month it is sketch week … and Kristine has given us an awesome sketch to play with.

    C4C223

For my card this week I used a stamp set I purchased a while back from StampsULove.  In the left hand corner panel I used an embossing folder to emboss the paper and then sanded the paper for a distressed look. I also added some cogs to the top left hand corner of my image panel.

Here is the inside of my card, I used the sentiment which was included in the stamp set.

    Another Block Card

    ArtyFacesBlockCard-wm

    Hi everyone,

I am still having fun playing around creating block cards. I recently used this block card as a project at I club I attend each month as it was my turn to do a project.

To see my other block cards I have created you can find them using this link.

    ArtyFacesBlockCard2 wm

For this card today I decorated it using some designer paper I have had in my stash for some years now. It had small blocks of various different graphics/images which I thought would work well for this type of card.

I have kept it fairly simple just adding the key near the block that has the keyhole.

    ArtyFacesBlockCard3-wm

Here is the Here is the back of my Block card, using more of the same designer paper.

    ArtyFacesBlockCard4-wm

As you can see by the photo above this card folds flat so it can be placed in a standard envelope to be mailed.

If you want to find out how to create this style of card you can find a video by Papercrafter45 here.

    Keep On Clucking!

    CCEE1407Chickens-wm

    Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Vicky Gould our challenge hostess for February continues to deliver us some fun challenges.

This week Vicky has challenged us to Punch Art – I don’t mean just punch out circles, ovals, etc. I mean use 3 or more punches to create something…no dies; just punches. Check out the gallery on SCS for ideas.

    CCEE1407Chickens2-wm

Ok so the challenge police are probably going to be after me this week …. but I don’t care, I like how my card turned out. Why will they be after me, well because it says no dies …. and I used a die for my card base. It’s the Pop It Ups Katie Label Pivot Card die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. Normally when I make this style of card I use a number of other dies as well but I limited it to just the two I needed to make the base and the label shape for the sentiment.

    CCEE1407Chickens3-wm

Here is a close up of the left side of my card when opened.

I used six different punches to create my punch art chickens. The body of the chicken is a large heart punch which has been cut in half and then for the comb I used a Momiji leaf punch. I used a larger Momiji leaf punch for the tail. The chickens beak is a Sakura punch and the wing is a teardrop punch and I cut 3 rays from a sun punch to create each of the chickens feet.

I could have used a tiny circle punch for the eyes, but I decided it would look cuter with googly eyes and I had already used more than the stipulated 3 or more punches Smile.

    CCEE1407Chickens4-wm

Here is another close up this time of the right side of my card. This chicken uses exactly the same punches as the one on the left, but I placed the feet and tail in a different position so that this one looks like he is bending over.

The sentiments used on this card are from Paper Pretties.

    CCEE1407Chickens5-wm

Here is the back of my card. On the front and inside of the card I added blue paper to the top portion to represent the sky, but seeing this is the back I decided to leave it plain … it is the back after all!

    CHF46Summer-wm

    Hi everyone,

It’s time for another CHF challenge over on the Cornish Heritage Farms Blog . This week the challenge is hosted by Steph.

Steph has challenged us to create a summer themed card . I know it is winter up there in the Northern Hemisphere, but down here in Australia where I live we are in our final month of summer. So it was easy to get into the mood to create a summer themed card!

For my card today I have used Cornish Heritage Farms Dog Welcome Home Digital Stamp. This is such a fun digital stamp!

As you can see I decided to create an Accordion card using the Circle Accordion Die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Crafts Design. To decorate the left panel of my card I used the coordinating Square W/Circle Frame Edges Die set.  These are such fun dies!
