Holly Jolly Christmas

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. As challenge hostess for the month, I continue to issue the challenge.

Today is our final challenge for 2020 and also for all time. After 13 years the time has come to say goodbye to Crazy 4 Challenges. Over the years we have had some amazing card makers participate in the weekly challenges either as Design Team members, Guest Designers and also people playing along with us. Thank you to all of you who have supported us over the years.

Our last challenge for the year has been for many years has been to create a card using your favorite "Crazy" sketch from the year ... as we are doing again this year from our 2021 sketch challenges.

For my card today I decided to use our sketch from our June Sketch Challenge ... C4C589.

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit for November 2021, focused on dies which could be used to create character shaped gift tags or cards. The characters included Santa, an elf; reindeer and snowman. When I saw the sneak peeks before the release I knew this was something I must have, so to be safe I got up at 3.30am to place my order to make sure it wasn't sold out. As it happened there were still some around when I finally got up the next morning, but they didn't stay available for long. I used the dies to create an elf and Santa for the front of my card.

I used Slimline dies from Picket Fence Studios to create the patterned paper layer for my card. For the strips down the left side of the card I used a die from Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Strips.

I added the Merry Christmas sentiment for the middle of the card.

For the inside of my card I created a Double Pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. I added a Christmas sentiment to the top right pop-up. For the bottom left pop-up I added Rudolph which was also created using the Hero Arts November 2021 kit.

Joyful Elves

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. As challenge hostess for the month, I finish off the month with one last challenge.

Being the third Saturday of the month, it's time for a sketch challenge.

For my card today I pulled out some elf dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs, the cute little elf on the front is from the Holiday Elf - His die set.

I used the dot stencil from Elizabeth Craft Designs Earth Patterns stencils, to add texture to the card base. I then added patterned paper to the left side of the card.

The sentiments are from Elizabeth Craft Designs Holiday Sparkle stamp set which is included in the Classic Christmas Special Kit.

I added a basic box pop-up to the centre of the inside of the card to which I added the girl elf from the Holiday Elf - Her die set.

The rectangle panels on the front and inside are from Waffle Flower Crafts A7 Layers die set.

Milk and Cookies for Santa

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Rebecca Ednie, our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month it's time for a sketch challenge.

As you can see by the photo at the top of this post, I stretched the sketch to create a Slimline card.

For the white background panel, I embossed the rectangle using Spellbinders Big Dot Slimline Embossing Folder. I then added the fishtail flag banners along the top of the panel and the two striped rectangles to the bottom.

To decorate my card I used Mama Elephant's Gingerbread Cookies stamp set. The sentiment at the bottom of the card, is from The Ton's Easy Expressions Christmas Stamp & coordinating die set.

For the inside of the card, I added a thin strip of patterned paper along the right side of the card.

I used MFT Stamps Stacked Merry and then added the "Christmas" word from MFT Stamps Bitty Holiday Wishes stamp set.

I added the milk and gingerbread cookie to the bottom of the card.

Mermaid Wishes

Hi Crafty Friends,

t’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Karen Ostergard our challenge hostess for the month, finishes off her month with one last challenge.

Being the third Saturday of the month, it's time for a Sketch Challenge.

For the challenge today I decided to use stretch the sketch to create a Slimline card. The last few months I seem to have created a few mermaid themed card, but when I was looking through my stash to find a thin tall image, this mermaid was the first I found so decided to use that.

I have again used papers from the Craft Consortium's Ink Drops - Vivid 12 x 12 Paper Pad.

The mermaid stamp is from Simon Says Stamp's Beautiful Mermaid stamp set. for the sentiment I used the Honey Bee Stamps Mermaid Song stamp set.

I used a stitched rectangle slimline die from Picket Fence Studios Slimline Nested Rectangles die set.

For the inside of the card, I used Whimsy Stamps Slimline Zig Zag Edger die set to add the border along both edges of the card.

I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set.

The mermaid and sentiment are from from Simon Says Stamp's Beautiful Mermaid stamp set.

To The Best Teacher

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Rebecca Ednie, our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month it is time for a sketch challenge.

As you can see I created a Slimline Card, the Studio Katia Dotted Slimline Set 1 die set was perfect for this challenge. I love that long oval die.

I looked through my stash and found this older Gorjuss stamp set called New Heights which I thought would make a good teacher thank you card. I need to work on getting a few more teacher cards done before the end of the year.

I used rainbow colors to color in the image and used some crayon paper from Doodlebug Designs for the background.

The sentiment is from Sunny Studio Stamps Teacher Appreciation stamp set.

For the inside of the card I used Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set to create a double pop up card. For the sentiments I used more stamps from the Teacher Appreciation stamp set from Sunny Studio Stamps.

Super Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. As challenge hostess for the month I continue to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month, it's time for a sketch challenge. This time around I created a Slimline sketch.

For my card today I decided to go with a super heroes theme, so I chose the colors red, blue and yellow.

I used Whimsy Stamps Slimline Stars Background die for the background of my card and yellowed glittered stars. The stars are the wide strip that is shown in the sketch, I didn't have yellow glitter cardstock, so I used white cardstock and then blended on yellow inks over the glitter cardstock.

I used Hero Arts Infinity Nesting Squares to create each of the three diamonds. The super hero dogs are from MFT Stamps Super Dogs stamp set.

The sentiment in the middle diamond is from a Sunny Studio Stamps Super Hero stamp set.

For the inside of the card, I created a pop-up card. I created another star background using the Whimsy Stamps Background die I used on the front of the card.

I created the cityscape pop up using Kat Scrappiness' Slimline Layered Cityscape die set, which I popped up using a simple box pop-up in several places along the fold of the card. This allowed for the different heights of the cityscape die cut.

I then added two more Super dogs to my background scene.

The blue panel on the base of the card was die cut using Picket Fence Studios Slimline Nested Rectangles die set.

I added the "Birthday Wishes" which is from Mama Elephant's Big Birthday Wishes die set, I then added a few red stars around the sentiment.

It's the third Saturday of the month, which means it's time for a sketch challenge.

As you can see the sketch this time is a Slimline sketch. I used Slimline dies from Picket Fence Studios to create the layers for my card.

For the background I die cut a slimline rectangle from white cardstock. I then blended on inks in various shades of blue to add color to the panel. I then embossed the panel using Whimsy Stamps Waves Embossing Folder.

For the strips down the left side of the card I used a die from Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Strips.

The images and sentiment are all from MFT Stamps Festive Old Friends Stamp set.

For the inside of the card I added layers using the Picket Fence Studios Slimline die set.

The sentiment is from Concord & 9th's Perfect Pairings Birthday die set. I die cut the sentiment from blue cardstock and then colored the bottom of each letter using copic markers.

Hi

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Rebecca Ednie our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month it is time for a sketch challenge.

As you can see by the photo of my card above, I elongated the sketch to make it work on a Slimline card.

To create the slimline portion of my card I used Slimline dies from Picket Fence Studios Slim Line Diecutting System ... the Nesting Rectangles and Scallop Framed Dies Die sets. The patterned paper on the background panel is from Catherine Pooler Designs.

I used circle dies from Hero Arts Circle Infinity die set to add the circle to the top right section of the card.

The "Hi" is from the Scallop Framed Dies die set.

I added flowers around the left side of the circle using flowers and leaf dies from Karen Burniston's Flower Pivot Panels and Flower Pot Pop-up die sets.

For the inside of my card, I used the patterned paper I used on the front of the card on both edges.

I used Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set to add the pop-up portion of the card. I added a sentiment using Picket Fence Studios Ways to Say Get Well.

Black, White and Red Celebrate

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Nicky Foden our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month it's time for a sketch challenge.

The sketch shows a square card, but as I love making Slimline cards I decided to convert it to a Slimline card. Sketch can be tweaked a little to suit what you want to do.

I recently received Catherine Pooler Designs Little Black Dress Slimline Paper Pack as a gift, so I decided to use a sheet from that for my card front. I die cut the paper using one of the slimline rectangles from Picket Fence Studios Slimline Nesting Rectangles die set.

I used one of the borders from Scrapbook Dot Com's Slimline Borders die set. I used one of the borders from the set which I die cut from white & black cardstock, offsetting the white border over the black.  Next I used one of the strips from Trinity Stamps Stitched Strips die set white I die cut from black cardstock and layered over the top.

I die cut two circles using white and black cardstock which I adhered to the lower left corner of the card.

I decorated the card using the cupcake from MFT Stamps Mice Day to Celebrate stamp set, paper piecing the cupcake wrapper with patterned paper.

For the two smaller circles indicated on the sketch I used balloons from Lawn Fawn's Outside In Stitched Balloon Stackables die set.

I added the "Celebrate" sentiment to the top right corner of the card using the Catherine Pooler Designs die. I die cut the sentiment from white cardstock three times layering together and then offset with a red diecut sentiment.

For the inside of the card, I used the Picket Fence Studios Slimline Nesting Rectangles to create the white rectangle panel. I added the black border which is one of the Scrapbook dot com Slimline borders die set. I layered a strip over the top of the black border using one of the dies from Trinity Stamps Stitched Strips die set.

I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. I used the Balloons from Lawn Fawn to add my sentiment and attached this to the pop-up panel.
