Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #17

Ahoy there me Matey's!!!!!! It's time for another of Beate's fun sketch challenges! It has been at least a couple of week's since I last played with my new Stampendous owl stamps so I had to get one of them out to play ....... and this pirate one just fought it's way into my hands :)

This was a fun card to create, the circles I created using my creative memories circle cutter making each circle layer bigger by 1/4 inch. The pirate owl was stamped in black on my card before I cut out my circles so I knew just how big to make it and where to cut it, I sponged the edges of the circle using aged paper distress ink and created the piercing around the circle using my SU paper piercing mat.

I used my rough texture roller wheel to create my background on the not quite navy panel using black ink and layered it to black and red card. The stripe paper is pirate stripes from Sandylion (appropriate for a pirate card). The little knot down the bottom right hand corner I found in a pack of ship theme buttons I purchased today ..... when I opened the packet I found them in there and thought that would work with this theme too. Pity I can't get them separately!

Recipe:
Stamps: Ollie's Pirates & Ahoy Matey - Stampendous; Rough Texture - Stampin' Up
Paper: Not Quite Navy & Real Red - SU; White; Black; Pirate Stripe DP - Sandylion
Other: Black Ink; Aged Paper Distress Ink; Creative Memories Circle Cutter; Red Brads; Black Brad; Knot Button; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool

love the card and the colours you chose. The little know is easy to make from two pieces of cord as it's just a reef knot, left over right, right over left, then trim ends to length!
