Hi Crafty Friends,
It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog, we are excited to having another year of fun challenges to look forward to. Being a brand new month it is time to introduce our new challenge hostess which is Liz Williams.
Liz lives in a place where winters are relatively mild, but her greatest fear is driving in icy conditions. "Black Ice" is a very hazardous condition she has heard others mention. She recently discovered a tutorial over on Splitcoast Stampers for a technique called "Black Ice". So even without much experience at the icy driving or this technique, Liz is challenging us to give this technique a try.
You can find the tutorial for the Black Ice technique here.
It's a little hard to take photos of cards using this technique, but hopefully you can tell what it looks like by this one.
For my card I used Simon Says Stamp's Beautiful Flowers stamp set to stamp onto my Black Ice Technique background panel.
I added the sentiment to the top left hand side of the card which is white embossed on black cardstock and then die cut using Honey Bee Stamps Banner Builder die set.
For the inside of my card I created a pop-up card using the pop-up die from Karen Burniston's Explosion Pop-up die set.
Along the top and bottom edges of my card I added two panels also using the Black Ice Technique.
I added the sentiment to the centre of the card using MFT Stamps Stitched Framed Domes die set.
Here is a close-up photo of one of the Black Ice Technique panels on the edge of the inside of my card.
Here is a side view of my card so you can see the pop up part of the card a little easier.
Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:
