Hi Crafty Friends,
It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Maryann Einam our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.
Maryann tells us that ... Today is Valentine's Day and it is also her birthday this week, so please create a birthday card for someone you love.
For my card today I pulled out Karen Burniston's new Circle Tag Book Pop-up die set to create a birthday card. This die normally creates a tag book, but I wanted to use it in a card this time round. I have done this before for the Tag Book Pop-up die set, so wanted to use this one this way too.
To help get the tag pop-up in the correct position, I die cut the solid tag included in the set which is normally the front and back cover for the tag book pop-up and placed it close to the fold. I then folded the tag pop-up how it needed to be folded, lay it onto the tag in the correct position and then applied adhesive to the solid rounded area only on one side and closed the card. Once the adhesive had time to dry, I opened the card and applied adhesive to the other side and closed the card again.
To decorate my card I used Heffy Doodle's Dino Time Clear Stamp set.
I added a rectangle from the Crosshatch Rectangles to the lower right hand side of my card so that a handwritten greeting could be added.
Here is an overhead view of my card so you can see the folds a little easier.
For the front of my card I added the little bit of patterned paper that I had left over from decorating the inside of my card and then added my dinosaur scene to the centre panel.
For the grass I used one of the borders from the Outdoor Scene die set and cut off the pine trees which are also on the die.
Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:
