Christmas Crackers

Hi Crafty Friends,

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful day yesterday!

Each year for the past forty odd years or so I have been creating my own Christmas crackers to use on Christmas Day. This year it got too close for comfort, as the supplies I was waiting for were delayed. As I didn't have much time left I decided to cheat this year and buy the crackers, but pretty them up a little.

I was lucky that I found some I liked, so purchased two boxes and apparently there was a promotion where some boxes had a price of a $15 gift card. Luckily I got one of these which helped pay for the crackers.

This year I went with a blue and silver theme for the crackers. The Silver ones were made using glitter cardstock, so I decided to follow that theme for the decorative pieces in the centre of the crackers.

I used Spellbinders Deck the Halls die set for the ornament part of the decoration. The pine branches come from Spellbinders Ornament Hot Foil Glimmer Plate die set, this set the main part of the set is a hot foil stamp, but it has accessory dies as well.

For the solid portion of the ornament, I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Deep Turquoise Silk Microfine Glitter for 4 of the crackers, these were for the adult females. One cracker uses Midnight Blue Silk Microfine Glitter from the Beach Palette collection, which will be for my Granddaughter.

As I purchase specific things for everyone to receive, it helps to have some way of knowing who gets what crackers.

The blue crackers are for the men, it made sense to do this even though my favorite color is blue. This time around I used Silver Glitter card for the solid portion of the ornament embellishment. One of the crackers has a blue glittered bow at the top of the ornament so I know which one to give to my Grandson.
