Hi Crafty Friends,
It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. As challenge hostess for the month I continue to issue the challenges.
Slimline Cards - Slimline Cards seem to be very popular at present, especially with a few companies releasing dies that are made to use for creating this style of card. For our challenge this week create a Slimline card. A Slimline card measures either 8 1/2 inches x 3 1/2 inches or 9 inches x 4 inches and should fit into a standard business sized envelope.
I have been waiting rather impatiently for the new Pinkfresh Studio Slim dies to arrive in one of my local stamp stores. With Covid 19 and borders being closed around the world, getting stamping supplies into the country has become a little slower.
Pink fresh Studio recently released 9 die sets which were designed to be used for Slimline cards. The largest die included in each set measures 8 5/8 inches x 3 5/8 inches so if you want a slight border around the die cut your card needs to be at least 8 3/4 inches x 3 3/4 inches. This size doesn't fit into a standard Australian business size envelope (DL), however I have discovered that you can purchased DLX envelopes which are slightly longer which will work for these cards. I guess I need to buy some now :)
For my card today I used the Slim Diagonal Stripes die set. As I also received the Waffle Flower Be A Cat die set I decided to use that on my card.
I added a sentiment using Honey Bee Stamps Purrrfect Sentiments which I die cut using the Banner Builder die set.
I added the cup from Spellbinders Drive-Thru die set.
For the inside of my card I added two more of the Slim Diagonal Stripes die cuts, trimming away the area which would show through the pop up section of the card.
I added the Lawn Fawn Pop-up Hello to the centre portion of the card, added the colored letters using the Oliver's Stitched ABCs die set.
To finish off the card I added another stamped sentiment from the Honey Bee Stamps Purrrfect Sentiments stamp set.
Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
