Super Duper Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Being a brand new month it's time to introduce a new challenge hostess, which is ME!

According to the Days of the Year web site, today is Free Comic Book  Day. For our challenge today being inspired by a Comic Book  … maybe create a comic book layout with any theme or create something that might be included in a comic book eg … super heroes.

I know Super Hero Comic Books are fairly popular, so I decided to go with a Super Hero theme for my card today.

I used Taylored Expressions Color Block Cutting Plate for the base of my card and then used papers from Sunny Studio Stamps Heroic Halftones Paper Pad to include each of the blocks inside the Color Block Frame.

I used an older MFT Stamps Skyline Border to add along the edge of two of the colored blocks in the frame. I have newer versions of this die, but this one seemed to suit the size of the blocks a lot better.

To decorate my card I used Sunny Studio Stamps Super Duper stamp set.

For the inside of my card I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Paper Frames Pop-up die set.

I added the patterned paper I used on the front of my card on either side of the inside of the card cutting it down to create a block pattern similar to the front of the card.

I added a few more of the stamps and dies that I used on the front to decorate the card.

For the sentiment I used a few of the words included in the Sunny Studio Stamps Super Duper stamp set. I also added the "Super" die cut which is a die from Heffy Doodle Stamps.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
