Mermaid Wishes

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a beach themed card with you all today. This card was inspired by the pop-up shell die which I found very cheap late last year when I was shopping with a friend.

For the front of my card I used Fun Stampers Journey Sparkle Mermaid Tail die set. This is a pretty large die which take up the majority of the card. I wanted to use my Hero Arts Coloring Waves stamps set which I had been wanting for ages and when I finally was able to purchase it left it sitting on  my desk for ages ... it's how it goes right! Anyway this stamp set also comes with a sand stamp, but as the mermaid's tail so was big I decided not to use that for this card. Maybe next time I will make a Slimline card, but as I have been making so many of those lately I decided to take a break.

I used MFT Stamps Mini Cloud Stencil for the sky area and added a mermaid sentiment using stamps from Honey Bee Stamps Mermaid Song stamp set.

For the inside of my card I created a pop-up card using Create and Craft's Pop-up Template from The Sea Siren Collection. As I mentioned above, this die was just too cheap to not purchase and as I love pop-up cards it wasn't hard to decide to add it to my stash. I die cut the pop-up shell into a white card panel and then used the same distress oxide inks I used on the side panels.

For the side panels I used Whimsy Stamps Seashell Background stamp. I white embossed the background onto white cardstock and then blended Distress Oxide inks in Cracked Pistachio and Broken China.

To  finish off the card I added the "Let's Shellabrate" sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps Mermaid Song stamp set and the Happy Birthday sentiment from a Uniquely Creative stamp set. I die cut both sentiments using banner dies from Honey Bee Stamps Banner Builder die set.

Lovely! The colors and effect you achieved from embossing and blending inks on the inside side panels and on the shell pop up is truly beautiful.
