Retro Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a retro themed Slimline birthday card I created recently. The colours of the card look a lot better in real life than they do in the photo, some colours are difficult to photograph successfully.

For my card today I pulled out a Slimline die set from Dare 2B Artzy called Retro Slimline Background. I die cut the decorative panel from bright pink card and layered this onto pink polka dot patterned paper. This was then layered onto a pink panel die cut using the rectangle die included in the die set and then onto a top folding 8 3/4 inch x 3 3/4 inch bright pink card.

Next I used some pink glitter cardstock to die cut some of the designs from the decorative panel again and paper pieced them into my design.

Finally I used the accessory dies included in the set, die cutting them from pale pink cardstock and adhering over some of the glittered pieces.

For the inside of the card, I die cut a few more of the pieces using the decorative panel die and added them to two of the corners of my card. The white rectangle panel is die cut using the rectangle die included in the die set.

I stamped a birthday sentiment using one of the sentiments from LDRS Designs Essential Birthday Sentiments die set.

Black, White and Silver

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Maryann Einam our challenge hostess for the month finishes off her month with one last challenge.

This week Maryann asked us to create a "Tall Thin" Card to celebrate Walk on Stilts Day.

I am still playing with my new Go Press and Foil machine by Couture Creations. As I was successful playing with embossing folders and foil the other day, I thought I would try again with some of my older embossing folders ..... well some worked some didn't so you may get to see some more embossing folders with foil in the future.

However while I was going through my embossing folders I noticed some older Spellbinders Impressablities which I thought I would try to see if I could use those to foil my cardstock. Yay .... this was a win that I ended up doing a few of these in a few different colors, one being this silver foiled image on black cardstock.

This card looks awesome in real life, but unfortunately I haven't been able to photograph it very successfully, most of the card is foiled. I have tried taking photos inside and out without success.

As you can see I have added the foiled circles to the top and bottom of the card and then I used the Art Deco Tag Hot Foil Stamp for the centre of the card.

For the inside of the card I added the left over foiled circles panel to the bottom of the card. I also added a Celebrate Your Birthday Hot Foil Stamp using silver foil to the centre of the card.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:
