We Can't Always Choose The Music

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Karen Aicken our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month it is time for a sketch challenge.

For my card today I have used a stamp set I received as a freebie in a magazine, Creative Stamping Issue 52. This set was designed by Sheena Douglas and called The Music & Dance Collection. This is a stamp set I have been watching out for for a little while.

For the background of my card I used the emboss resist technique, stamping the music border onto white cardstock using Versamark ink and embossing using white embossing powder. Distress Oxide inks were then applied over the embossed images.

I added one of the sentiments from the stamp set to the fishtail layer. For the semi circle panel on the right hand side, I stamped the large circular music note stamp onto white card and embossed using white embossing powder and then die cut using circle dies.

Finally I stamped the dancers silhouette image onto a rectangle panel.

As I like to decorate the inside of my cards, I created two more background panels using the same stamps/technique as the front.

I used Karen Burniston's Spinner Square Pop-up Card die set to create the pop-up on the inside of the card. I added the dancing couple shoes to the pop-up panel and a sentiment to the spinner part of the card.

Finally I added a blank label to the base of the card so that a hand written greeting can be added.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
