Hap'bee' Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. As challenge hostess for the month, I continue to issue the challenges.

Apparently Saturday 18th August is World Honey Bee Day, so for our challenge this week we are to include a bee or two on our cards.

As you can see I have created a pop-up card using Elizabeth Craft Designs General Pop-ups die set.

To create the background for my card I first used Fossilised Amber Distress Oxide ink to cover a piece of white cardstock. I then covered my card with the largest hexagon stencil from Honey Bee Stamps Layered Hexagon Stencils. sponging the stencil using Wild Honey Distress Ink. I then took the middle stencil from this set and applied Spiced Marmalade through the stencil.

To decorate my card I used the Beehive; Bees; Small Flower Set 1; Trio of Leaves and the branch from Flowering Trees of Spring die sets all from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I added Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to the bees wings.

I used an older sentiment from my stash on the base of my card which I layered using the Dashing Circles and Dotted Scallop Circles die set also from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Here is another photo of my card, taken at a different angle so that you can see the pop up part of the card a little better.

For the front of the card I repeated many of the elements used on the inside of the card.

I stamped the "Bzzzz" sentiment randomly over the background of my card and added another sentiment to the centre of the card.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:
