Pugs & Kisses Surprise Ball Pop-up

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am excited to sharing a Christmas themed pop-up card I created using two of the new dies which are being released 11th November by Karen Burniston. There are 7 new dies that will be release.

The Surprise Ball Pop-up die is lots of fun and suitable for any occasion ... just decorate with whatever your heart desires. This is a re-release of an older die from Karen from years ago, with a few changes ... the biggest being it has been resized so the ball can fit inside a 5 inch square card.

Another die set being release is the Flap & Closure die set, which is what i used to create the flap at the top of the card and the closure to keep the card closed. There are a number of fun ways to use the Flap part of this die, which I am looking forward to exploring in the future.

This style of card is a little hard to photograph so that you get to see all the elements included in it. So I have created a quick video so you can see the card in action.

The pop-up ball on the inside of the card, not only spins around, it flattens when you press the top of the ball.

This is a square card when closed measuring 5 inches square. I added the flap to the top of the card using the flap from the Flap & Closure die set.

To create the pop-up ball, you also need a number 16 rubber band. Now the sizes may be different in the US to Australia as I used a #16 rubber band I purchased in Australia and it just fitted. In the USA I know the Design Team and Karen were saying they needed to knot the rubber band in the middle, so something to keep in mind.

To decorate the ball I pulled out my Clearly Besotted Bah-Hum Pug stamp set.

I also added the heart ornament to every second panel of the ball, alternating the top and bottom so they were not in the same position. As you can see in the photo above.

Here is an overhead view of the inside of my card, so you can see the whole card. I added a pug themed Christmas sentiment to the bottom panel of the card using stamps from the Clearly Besotted stamp set and the labels from the Katherine Label Pop-up die set.

Here is a look at the front of the card when it is closed. I added the closures to keep the card closed and another of the pugs that I used on the inside of the card.
