Sleigh Ride

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. As challenge hostess for the month, I continue to issue the challenges.

Tomorrow is "Go For A Ride Day", so for our challenge this week we are to incorporate some sort of transport on our card ... Bike, car, train, hot air balloon, etc. How will you be riding this week.

As I was thinking about what to do for this challenge, I could see the Christmas themed stamps and dies sitting on my desk wanting to be turned into cards. I did think of doing something using one of the traditional forms of transport ... but at this time of year there is another form of transport that excites so many children .... a Sleigh Ride! With of course Santa and his reindeers and all those presents that he will be bringing in just over a months time.

I used Distress Oxide inks in Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot to create my night sky in each of the three panels. I also splattered white paint over the background to represent either snow or stars depending on where you live.

I added a die cut circle to the top left hand side of the card for the moon. I used Lawn Fawn's Ho-Ho-Holidays stamp set to make Santa, his sleigh and reindeers.

Along the bottom of the two panels inside, I added snowy hills, and then added houses and trees.

I used Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set to add the pop-up sentiment to my card. I also added another reindeer and a present to the pop-up label.

For the front of the card I used Lawn Fawn's Rooftop Border die set along with the Ho-Ho-Holidays stamp set to have Santa, his sleigh and reindeer on the roof going down the chimney.

I added a sentiment and "Ho Ho Ho" to finish my card.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:
