Zip, Beep, Boop, Zap

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Vicky Gould our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Make a card for a kid of any age!  We all have little kids in our life, but we also have those “big” kids who never seem to age.  Your choice, a young person….or a person who never ages!

As I had just received a couple of Honey Bee Stamps stamp sets which I knew would work for this challenge, I decided to grab one of those to play. I used the Build A Bot stamp set which coordinating die set.

I had also just received LDRS Creative's Slim Line Scallop die set. I have become obsessed with Slimline cards recently and as this die set was different to the others in my collection, I had to add it to my stash too. I decided to create a shaker card which I thought would work well with the robot theme.

I used Honey Bee Stamps In Gear stencil set to create the background for my card. I used Catherine Pooler inks in Hot Tub and Stone Blue.

I did cut the scallop panel using the LDRS Creative Slim Line Die and added acetate behind the opening. I added various colors of sequins and seed beads into the shaker part of the card.

I stamped all the images from the Build A Bot stamp set and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I then pieces everything together. The fun thing about this stamp set is that the head, body, legs and arms are all separate, so you can create robots using any combination you want.

To finish off the front of the card I added the 4 sentiments which are from Honey Bee Stamps Gear Up stamp set, this is full of sentiments suitable for anything gear or robot related.

For the inside of the card I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. I added the pop-up die cut to the left of the card and added the robot to this, being careful to have the robot positioned so it wouldn't be seen when the card was closed.

I used the In Gear stencil again to create the stencilled panel for the top and bottom of the card.

I added another two sentiments from the Gear Up sentiment set which I added to the right hand side of the card. I added a couple of images from the Build A Bot stamp set around the sentiment area.

To finish off the card I added three 'gear' balloons to the right hand side of the card.

Oh this is out of this world from cuteness! I love the color palette, too - the blue and yellow work so well together.

Those robots are really cute, and I love the way you used the Katherine Label to pop out the one on the inside.
