Sip Sip Hooray

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Maryann Einam our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenge.

Apparently today is World Gin Day. So for our challenge this week we are celebrating the occasion by creating a card! This week think of cocktail drinks, Juniper berries, the colors and flavors of Gin, Pink, Ink, Orange blossom, Rhubarb, blood orange, Violet, spiced, passionfruit, pineapple, mango, Lime.

Now as I don't drink gin, I don't know a lot about it. But fortunately my youngest daughter does and normally buys a special bottle each year for her birthday. Who knew there were so many pretty colors to chose from!

I decided to go with the color/gin type pink!

As you can see I created another Slimline card, this time using Pinkfresh Studio's Slim Fancy Diagonal Stripes. This is probably one of my favourites of all the Pinkfresh Studio Slim dies, but it took me a while to actually use it. I die cut the Diagonal Stripes die from black cardstock, I then splattered gold paint all over the background. I layered the card onto a panel which I colored using Catherine Poolers Party Dress ink pad.

My card is also a shaker card, using MFT Stamps Margarita Shaker Window and Frame Die-namics. I die cut the Margarita glass using gold pearlescent cardstock. I used the coordinating Margarita Shaker Windows to the glasses and then added pink sequins and Frosty Ice Cubes to each glass.

For the centre portion of the card. I used the Sip Sip Hooray Die-namics, die cutting this from black and white cardstock and paper piecing together. I also  added a stamped sentiment from MFT Stamps A Toast To You stamp set, seeing this was a Shaker Card, I thought this one about "Shake It Up" suited the card well.

For the inside of my card I used the Pinkfresh Studio's Slim Fancy Diagonal Stripes die, which I again die cut from black cardstock, splattered with gold paint and layered onto pink cardstock. I then cut the panel down the centre and added a panel to each side of the card.

I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. As the card is long and so is the sentiments i used an older Spellbinders Mega Ovals and Mega Scallop
Ovals for the label portion of the card.

I added the "Cheers" sentiment to the top of the label and I found the perfect sentiment for this challenge theme, which is also from the A Toast To You stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
