Cheers To You

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to my blog! Today I am sharing a male themed Slimline Pop up card I created recently.

I am always looking for stamps or dies that are suitable for male themed cards, so when I had the opportunity to purchase this Cheers die set which included the beer glass and the sentiments used on the front of course I got it.

My slimline card is 3 1/2 inches x 8 1/2 inches. I had some beer themed patterned paper that looked like beer, so I die cut the glass using this paper. I froth at the top of the glass is die cut from white glitter cardstock.

I die cut the banner from dark blue cardstock & the “cheers” from gold cardstock. I was surprised to find a  hot foil stamp included in the set (happily surprised), so I gold foiled it onto blue cardstock.

For the inside of my card I created a double pop up using Karen Burniston’s Katherine Label Pop-up die set. The stamped sentiments are from Crafter’s Companion’s Happy Beer Day stamp/die set.

Measure Up

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a sewing and postage themed Slimline Pop Up Card.

Last year, I purchased Waffle Flower Crafts Postage Collage dies and stencils. I love them so much that when they released their other postage themed dies/stencils in other size formats I had to add some of them to my stash.

One that I purchased was the die stencils in the slimline format.

As you can see I went with a sewing theme for my card, using stamps from Clearly Besotted.

After I mounted my card to my top folding card base, I added the wax seal to the lower left corner of my card. In case you can't see, the wax seal has a sewing machine on it.

For the inside of my card, I created a pop-up card, using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. Rather than adding the label from the die set to my card, I kept with the postage theme and added the postage stamp. The sentiment is from a Your Next Stamp stamp set.

I also wanted to include something sewing related to the inside of my card, so I decided to go with the zipper border. This is an older die I purchased many years ago by a company called Zippity Do Da. The die is actually only about 6 inches long, but with some careful partial die cutting I was able to die cut it so it would fit the length of my slimline card.

Doggone Great Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

According to the Days of the Year website, tomorrow (26th August) is National Dogs Day. As you can see, I decided to create a dog themed card in honour of the occasion.

As you can see, I created a Slimline card.  I used the Be A Dog die set from Waffle Flower Crafts to create the two dogs I added to my card. I also used the bone die from the Stampendous Puppy Hugs die set which I used to add the "Happy Birthday" sentiment to my card. The sentiment is from a Creative Craft Products Birthday Sentiments stamp set.

To finish off the front of my card, I added the paw print wax seal to the middle area of my card.

For the inside of the card, I created a double pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up.

I added the dog faces to each of the labels using the Stampendous Puppy Hugs stamp set.

Both sentiments are from La-La Land Crafts' Pawsome Friend stamp set.

Other Supplies:

  • Paw Print Wax Seal
  • Green Wax Beads

You're Sweet!

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Slimline Pop-up card I created recently.

For my card today I used stamps that were included in Creative Stamping Magazine Issue 122. This stamp set included afternoon tea related stamps included a number of different popular biscuit images.

One of the cards included in the the magazine was a square card with the background full of biscuits that had been masked. I love the look of the card, so I decided to do something similar, but as a slimline card.

I used two Picket Fence Studios Slimline die sets to die cut the background and layers.

To finish off the front of the card, I added the "You're Sweet" sentiment which is a Karen Burniston die.

As you can see by the photo above, I created a pop-up card for the inside of my card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. The sentiment used on the label also comes from the stamp set that the biscuits are in.

I created two more smaller panels full of biscuits, to use on the top and bottom edges of my card.

Here is another look at the inside of my card.

Wheely Awesome Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a fun dog themed Slimline Pop-up card I created recently using stamps and dies from various companies.

La-La Land Crafts recently released a kit that included a dog themed stamp set that included a pug. I am always looking out for pug stamps and I am a grandmother to a pug LOL! The first thing I did when I started playing with the stamp set, was to stamp and colour all the images. I noticed one of the dogs could look like a Maltese terrier and as I have one of those, I coloured the image like mine. I had also coloured another of the dogs brown which then looked like my other daughter's dog, so of course I had to make a card that incorporated all three.

I created a Slimline card that measures 4 inches x 8 1/2 inches, I wanted the wider size so the dogs all fitted easily.

I used ombre designer paper for the sky. I then used the cloud die included in Spellbinders Hummingbird & Lily die set, I have a feeling I will be using this a lot as those clouds are very pronounced and work well for bushes too. Finally I added the road at the bottom of the card.

I die cut two pine trees using an older Sizzix Big die which I added to the top of the card. I also added a circle for the sun to the top right hand corner of my card.

I used the Motorcycle w/Side Car die and the Pawsome Friend stamp set, both from La-La Land Crafts to add my doggy scene. To finish off the front of the card, I added three birds using a Honey Bee Stamps stamp set.

As you can see, I created a pop-up to the inside of my card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. I love adding a double pop-up with these dies when I make a Slimline card.

I used the Cloud border from the Spellbinders die set again to create the greenery along the bottom of my card. I also added another pine tree.

As the dogs on the front are in a motorcycle, I thought the "Wheely Awesome Day" sentiment which is from a Made To Surprise stamp set. The dog themed sentiment is from the Pawsome Friend stamp set.

Finally I stamped out three more of the dogs and added them to the labels. Maybe they flew off the motorcycle and landed there LOL!

Have A Wheely Great Day!

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to my blog! Today I am sharing a fun Slimline card I created using products from Lawn Fawn and Hello Bluebird.

In Lawn Fawn's latest release back in February, they released a fun Ferris wheel stamp set called Wheely Great Day which as you can see I purchased and used on my card today along with an older Lawn Fawn Stamp set called Coaster Critters. I didn't have enough room on my card to used the roller coaster from the Coaster Critters stamp set, however the cute animals and accessories in that set were handy to use to complete the scene on this card.

I pulled out my Black Widow Wax Colouring Pencils to colour all of the images, I figured as they were all small it was a good way to practise.

I used Hello Bluebird's Slimline Skating Pond Scene die set, which I have been wanting to use for a while. As you can see, I didn't use it as intended with ice in the area that I coloured grey. I figured that area could be concrete and a perfect place for a fair.

For the inside of the card I created a pop-up card, using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set.

I also decorated the inside of the card, using Lawn Fawn's Raffle Ticket die set. As I only used 5 colours of the rainbow when colouring the images on the front of the card, I decided to only use those same colours on the inside.

I used sentiments from both the Wheely Great Day and Coaster Critters stamp set to add my sentiment to the pop-up label.

Opposites

Hi Crafty Friends,

I enjoy exploring the Days of the Year website to discover all the fun and interesting days of the year that people celebrate. Today Apparently is National Opposite Day, so of course I decided to celebrate by using opposites in my card.

If you want to know what Opposite Day is all about you can find out here.

I think I have included at least three different things on my card that would be considered "Opposite" two on the outside and the third on the inside. First up there is the colours ... black and white, I have then gone with stripes and dots.

I have created a Slimline card using patterned papers from Catherine Pooler Designs to create the first two opposites of my card.

I added the large labels using Whimsy Stamps Mini Slimline Notched Labels die sets to the centre of my card. The sentiment is an older sentiment from my stash from Kaisercraft which I stamped in the middle of the labels.

I added the two butterflies using Made To Surprise by Sam Calcott's Butterflies Galore Stamp/Die set, using the stand alone dies from the set only which I die cut from black and white cardstock.

To finish off the front of the card I added a few pearls.

The inside of the card, repeats the first two opposites of black and white; stripes and dots and then we have the addition of the pop-up. The pop ups are adhered to the card on opposite ends (one at the top and one at the bottom and also on the opposite sides (left and right).

I used Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up for the pop up portion of my card which is always my go to pop up die set. I added two birthday themed sentiments to each of the labels.

I also die cut two more butterflies which I added to each side of my card.

HB2U Slimline

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have a birthday themed Slimline Pop-up card to share with you today.

To create the background for my card I used Picket Fence Studios' Slimline Plumeria Stencil using Catherine Pooler inks in the following colours: Samba; Mandarin Spice; Glitz; Lime Rickey and Aquatini. I then used the two larger dies from Spellbinders Hemstitch Slimline die set to die cut the panel before adding it to a side folding 3 1/2 inch x 8 1/2 inch card.

I used Picket Fence Studios' HB2U die which I die cut from black cardstock and added to the front of the card. Finally I added the "You're How Old?" sentiment which is from MFT Stamps Bitty Birthday Sentiments stamp set.

For the inside of my card, I used the Picket Fence Studios stencil once again to add the strips to the edges of my card.

For the pop up I used Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set to add the two pop up panels.

The sentiment at the top of the card is from a Spellbinders stamp set, the second one is from Honey Bee Stamps.

Santa Mug

Hi Crafty Friends,

For the past two days, I shared a coffee themed cards for the 2022 Fall | Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  The hop started on Friday 11th November and goes until Friday 18th November. As I recently purchased the Trinity Stamps Santa Mug die set, I decided I would make another card to enter into the hop.

The Santa Mug and gingerbread men are all included in the Santa Mug die set from Trinity Stamps. I made a top folding 5 x 7 card.

I added a foiled sentiment using Waffle Flower Crafts Merry Christmas Foil Plate, foiling it using red glimmer foil and using the Solid Plate with the negative foil image.

For the inside of the card I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. I again used the mug from the Trinity Stamps Santa Mug die set, this time I added a gingerbread man to the front of the mug.

Along the bottom edge of the card I added Picket Fence Studios' Slim Line Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas Word Topper die, which I die cut from red cardstock.

I added two more gingerbread men to either side of the sentiment.

Here is a side view of the inside of my card, so you can see the pop up portion of the card a little better.

Flowering Cactus

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have a 5 x 7 birthday card to share with you today. For some reason, I am attracted to cacti themed stamps and dies and a few months ago I spied this beautiful stamp set. I was lucky that I found it on the Craft Stash website and as I was placing an order, I added this to my cart.

This cactus stamp set is from Memory Box and includes the two cacti images, two butterflies and seven beautiful sentiments. As you can see the main image is a fairly large image and fits a 5 x 7 card well. I stamped the cacti onto white cardstock and cut it out so I could layer it onto my card.

I have a few new birthday sentiment stamp sets that I just love so I used one for my card today. This uses the Essential Birthday Sentiments from LDRS Creative.

As you can see, I created a pop-up on the inside of my card using my favourite Katherine Label Pop-up die set. I only used the mechanism from this set as I decided there was so much space inside the 5 x 7 card, that I could add a larger label. I used the two large labels from the Labels - Crosshatch die set.

I added another birthday sentiment from the LDRS Creative stamp set and added the smaller cacti and another butterfly to the label.
