Happy Thanksgiving

Hi everyone,

It’s time for another CHF challenge over on the Cornish Heritage Farms Blog . This week the challenge is hosted by Anne Harmon.

Anne has challenged us to create a card with a Halloween/Fall theme this time round.

While I was cleaning up some things on my desk recently … I discovered this Thankful die cut card that I had cut using my Sizzix Eclips a year or two ago … the card is an SVG from My Scrap Chick … I thought this would be a great start for this weeks challenge.

I have decorated my card using Cornish Heritage Farms Pilgrim Digital Stamp.

For the inside of my card I used stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms Fall Harvest stamp set.

To play create a card using CHF images. You can use either CHF digi or rubber stamps to create a card or project.... anything you like as long as the stamps are Cornish Heritage Farms. (Yes, they can be older stamps.)

Just Flying By…

Hi everyone,

My card today was created using a SVG file from My Scrap Chick … this is an Easel card.

I used my Sizzix Eclips and my ECAL program to cut out all the pieces to create this card. The sentiment I used on my card is the one sentiment which I cut apart so that I could use part of it on the outside and the rest on the inside.

Here is my card when it is closed up ready to be mailed.

While we are talking Sizzix…. a couple of week’s ago I was lucky enough to be able to purchase all the new Sizzix Pop N Cuts Journey collection designed by Karen Burniston … starting tomorrow and over the next couple of week’s I will be sharing with you all what I have created using these awesome dies … so don’t forget to drop by each day

Engaged!

Hi everyone,

I needed an Engagement Card to give to my nephew and his fiancée so this is what I came up with.

The Lattice background is a cut file from Waltzing Mouse Stamps, love the details in this! The happy couple are from Crafter’s Companion.

A Special Christening Card

Hi everyone,

Today is a very special day … not only is today my birthday … but it is also my Granddaughter’s Christening Day. We now share two things … our middle name and that the 24th March is special to us.

Of course I had to make her a special card for the occasion, a year or two ago I purchased a Slice form CD containing SVG files to create various different slice form patterns … one of them was a Church for a Christening. I have been wanting to use this pattern for some time now and of course this was the perfect opportunity.

The Slice forms do  fold but I wanted mine to be part of a Magic Box which is what I have created for her card today.

This blog post contains a ton of pictures … there is lots to see .

First up the outside of course … I create my magic box from a 12 inch square piece of card … I scored this at 4 inch intervals and then cut out the 4 outside squares to form the box base. The Cross on the side of the box is an SVG file I found online which I cut out 4 times and added to each side of the box. I added pearls to each of the crosses.

Here is a view of my magic box looking down from the top.

Here is a closer look at the lid … I decorated the lid using a stamp from Lili of the Valley … this is my favorite stamp to use for Christenings … I added flowers and the flourish were created using MFT Die-namics Fancy Flourish die.

Now for the inside of my Magic Box … in the centre is my Christening Church … it’s hard to see but if you look inside the doors you can see the guests at the back of the church.

The Christening Church is the bit that is done in what is called Slice form …. I purchased the CD which contains the SVG file from Jenigami.

Here is another view of the front of the church and the inside of my Magic Box.

Here you can see the back of the church and of course I have also used the baby again that I used on the lid, this time on the back flap.

And the other side of the church.

Here is a close up of the back flap which contains the baby.

This is on the right hand flap, I used my computer to generate all the wording for this.

On the front flap I have added a sentiment, again I used my computer for this.

My granddaughter’s name and her Christening date.

This is a close up of the Church … you can see the guests at the back of the church … what you can’t see from the photos that the center part there is a man and woman holding the baby (can be either parents of God Parents) and then in the front of the church is the Minister and Christening Font. There were also a couple of little animas on the outside but I cut those off as I didn’t want them to get in the way of the box closing.

Here is a close up of the dies … love the arched windows! … Both sides are the same, although if I had kept the animals on they wouldn’t have been.

And this is the back of the church … look at the detail in that stained glass! And if you peek inside through the stained glass you might be able to see the Minister and Christening/Baptismal Font I mentioned earlier.

And one last photo, if you have managed to stay with me this far LOL … this time of the inside and the lid together.

I Dig You!

Hello everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. This week our challenge hostess Joanne continues to issue the challenges.

It will soon be Valentine’s Day, and February is American Heart Month, so let’s make cards with hearts on them with a color twist of no red or pink on the cards.

When I was thinking about what to do for this challenge I came across a blog post who had created a Scottie dog shaped card using cut files from Lettering Delights … when I went to investigate the cut files I discovered there were a number of different Scottie Dog files and as I had fallen in love with them I thought this would be easy for this theme … I could easily make these without needing to use red or pink. I love creating shaped cards, the set is called Great Scott It’s Love if you are looking for them.

I used the Sure Cuts A Lot program and my Sizzix Eclips to cut out all the different pieces. For the base I created a folded card.

Here is the inside of my card, I added more wording which was also included in the SVG Cut file and cut with my Sizzix Eclips.

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town!

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time again with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week it is my turn to host the challenge which is also the last challenge for 2012 as we are taking a break for a couple of weeks. But we will be back again at the beginning of 2013 for another year of fun challenges.

For our final challenge of the year I have challenge everyone to Santa Claus is Coming to Town - Make a card, or project, with Santa on it!!

I decided to make something other than a card this time round and decided upon this cute Santa in Chimney box I found on My Scrap Chick. It is a SVG file which I cut using ECAL & my Sizzix Eclips.
