Just Because!

TPE-just-because-wm

Hi again everyone!

It is time for another The Pink Elephant challenge. This week the challenge is a color challenge, we had to use the colors Brown, Yellow, Neutrals and a color of our choice.

I decided to use red as my extra color choice. My image is “Little Goth Girl” one of the Gorjuss Girl range from Sugar Nellie …  I used a flower and brad to cover up the skull in her hair. I used the SFYTT sketch challenge from 24th October for the layout of my card.

Don’t forget to check out The Pink Elephant blog to see what the rest of the design team have created this week.

Recipe:

Paper: White; Brown; Red; Yellow; DP

Other: Black Ink; Circle Nestabilities; Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Word Window Punch; Spellbinders Fancy Tags; Swarovski Crystal; Red Mini Brad; Flower; Foam Tape; Copics

Happy Saturday everyone!

Of course Saturday’s mean challenge time over on the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge blog. Thanks to everyone who played along with us all last week, we are really thrilled you are enjoying our challenge blog and love seeing your creations each week.

Cindy Haffner our challenge hostess for this month has supplied us with another fantastic sketch to use, to finish off our September Sketches theme.

This week I used Sugar Nellies Gorjuss Girls “Sitting”. I have been wanting this stamp for ages and finally was able to get around to ordering it. I also used the eyelet borderabilities for the horizontal strip across my card.

Sitting with a Bear!

I like doing a sketch challenge on Saturday mornings so this morning I headed over to Taylor's blog ... Taylored Expressions to get her sketch to play with. Today I decided to use another of those cute Sweet Ebony stamps from Sugar Nellie ... one day I might do Taylor's sketch challenge and actually use one of the many cupcake stamps I own LOL ... but for today they were not calling out as loudly as this image was haha!

The girl was stamped onto white card and then attached to the folded blue card .... I decided to add the 2 thin brown stripes to each side as I felt it needed something else when I had finished my card and they seems to be what it needed.

The scallops of my awning were created using my corner rounder with the guide removed ... I used a small hole punch to create the holes in each of the scallops ... this was then attached to my card using tape at the top part and foam tape along the bottom so that is is slightly raised and looks more like an awning.

I added the brown ribbon to the lower portion of my card and also added the 3 rows of paper piercing along the bottom right edge ... the middle row is extended slightly. I added the birthday greeting to the bottom left of the card .

Recipe:
Stamps: Sweet Ebony sitting With Bear - Sugar Nellie; Sentiment - Gina K
Paper: White; Brocade Blue & Chocolate Chip - SU; DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Brocade Blue SU Ink; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Corner Rounder; Brown Grosgrain Ribbon; Circle Punches; Hole Punch; Foam Tape.

Feeding the Cat!

I am not 100% happy with this card .... but after fiddling with it for ages, I had to say enough is enough and be done with it. This is for this weeks sketch challenge on SCS.

I just adore this image which I received in the mail this afternoon shortly before the sketch was posted so of course I had to play with it. I used my rectangle nestabilities for the layers of the main image. The ribbon was white and I colored it with my copic markers. The small tiny squares were cut using square punches.

Recipe:
Stamps: Sweet Ebony Kitty - Sugar Nellie
Paper: White; Regal Rose; Pretty in Pink; Cool Caribbean - SU; DP - Fancy Pants
Other: Black Ink; Rectangle Nestabilities; Foam Tape; White Grosgrain Ribbon; Square Punches
