OCC - Triple Play!

OCC - 3 Embellies

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

It’s OCC challenge time over on the Our Creative Corner Blog. This week our July hostess, Jenny Gropp, has challenged the OCC to a Triple Play Challenge. Less is not always More! You must pick at least 3 type of embellishments to use on your card or project. These were our choices: Brads, Eyelets, Bling, Ribbon, Buttons, Thread/Floss, Beads, Charms, Rub Ons, Liquid Applique, Crystal Lacquer.

For my card I selected a Verve sketch I found over on the Verve Member Forums of SCS to create my card. I used The Greeting Farms “ Dahlia” …. it has been too long since I have played with my stamps from TGF!

For my embellishments, if you go by the list Jenny supplied I actually have 4 not 3 so I guess I passed this challenge hehe. My embellishments are the ribbon, the brads, a button in the centre of the flower and the thread in the holes of the button. Fun challenge thanks Jenny!

Don't forget to check out the rest of the OCC Designers cards over on the OCC Blog.

Recipe:

Stamps: Dahlia – The Greeting Farm

Paper: White; Real Red, Tempting Turquoise & DP – SU;

Hanna & Her New Boyfriend!

hanna-ball-beach-wm

Hi all … I am back again with two more Hanna Stamps sneak peeks of the new stamps that will be released after the release party this Monday 4th May. This time round I am using the new “To the Beach” set.

What do you think of Hanna and her new boyfriend!!!!!!! Guess he has been working out some hehe!

For my first card I stamped the images onto white card to create the scene and then I masked all the images and using my copic airbrush system to add the sand & sky. I used the Embossed Zigzag border punch on the right side of my card and also on the red panel that I added to my card. The teal base card is from Core’dinations Vintage Collection range.

hanna-muscle-bday-wm For my second card, I used just the guy in the set to make a male card, this set is very versatile as it can be used for all sorts of occasions and for both male and females. I used Viva la Verve’s VLVApr05 sketch for the layout of this card.

Recipe:

Stamps: To The Beach – Hanna Stamps; Sentiment – Clear Dollar Stamps

Paper: White; Black;  Red; More Mustard, Chocolate Chip & Sage Shadow – SU; Teal – Core’dinations

Other: Black Ink; Embossed Zigzag punch; Brown Brads; Fiskars Border Punch; Circle Nestabilities; Baby Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder;  MFT Stamps; Foam Tape; Copics

$HOP!!

Hi everyone ... thanks for dropping by my blog today.

It is time for another challenge over on the Alota Rubber Stamps Paper Craft Planet Group, this week the challenge is hosted by Birgit Edblom. You have two weeks from today to participate in this challenge and you also have a chance of winning some wonderful stamps if you card is selected randomly from all the entries received.

Birgit lives in Sweden which is also the home of the very popular company "Ikea". So Birgit challenged us to use the cover of the 2009 Ikea catalogue for our Inspiration piece for our cards for this week's challenge. We could use the colors, details, the theme "The way you live", "new ideas,"new designs" or whatever came up in our minds! Of course we had to use Alota Rubber Stamps in our creations.

As soon as I saw this catalogue the first thing I noticed was the pink and black so I decided to create a pink and black card. I needed to select a stamp ... well I had already stamped out one of the new "girl" stamps that are named after the Design Team members and as it was also a shopping theme I thought that would work perfectly for my card ... she is probably just been shopping in Ikea and has bought lots and lots of new things ... probably storage items to store all her stamping supplies hehe. As it turned out when I checked to see what the name of the stamps I used was so I could tell you, I discovered that this one is named after Birgit (Girlfriend Birgit) ... now how perfect is that to use that one for her challenge ... that was definitely a fluke hehe!

I paper pieced the shopping bags using two different black & pink designer papers. I used JustRite stamps to create my sentiment down the bottom of my card.... I decided to use the $ sign in place of the letter "S" cause shopping means spending $$$$$$$ right hehe.

My card also incorporates a sketch challenge from Verve Stamps (VLVJan04) that I found on the Verve Stamps Member Forum of SCS.

Btw Alota Rubber Stamps have just released this brand new stamp set ... furniture unmounted plate ... I just love it and can't wait to get it so I can play. You can find it on the Alota Rubber Stamps site here.

Recipe:
Stamps: Girlfriend Birgit - Alota Rubber Stamps; Just Rite Font Set
Paper: White; Black; Pretty In Pink - SU; Pink Floral DP - DCWV; Polka Dot DP - Kaiser
Other: Black Ink; Black Grosgrain Ribbon; Black Brads; Black Jumbo Brad; Pink & Black Polka Dot Flower; Photo Corner Punch; Foam Tape; Copics

Anni-VERVE-sary Sketch #12

This is my final card for Verve Stamps Anni-VERVE-sary 12 days of sketches. I have had lots of fun over the past 12 days playing along with these challenges ... thanks Julee for all the fun sketches.

For my card today I actually turned the sketch upside down because I wanted to use a sun where the circle was on the sketch and you can't have suns on the bottom of the card LOL ... it wouldn't have looked so good on the sand as it does in the sky LOL . (Eeeeeeeek now I am thinking of that story about Henny Penny and the sky is falling LOL ..... well at least it wasn't a song so I can't start singing aren't you all relieved LOL!)

Anyway back to my card .... for this one I used stamps from Bugawamps .... I stamped the feet with umbrella and then stamped both bugs on scrap paper and cut them out so I could place them in front of the feet so it looks like they are leaning up against them. I did stamp the bugs onto the main card so I didn't have to cut out those curly antenna.

I stamped the umbrella onto orange polka dot designer paper and cut that out and layered over my umbrella. The sun was created by punching out two large stars and layering them on top of each other but offset. I seem to use the sentiment I used on the sun a lot ... it seems to fit so many situations.

I used the swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder to the top portion of my folded orange card. I left the lower portion as is so I could stamp my other sentiment there. "Life's just beachy!" seems to suit these little guys so well ...don't ya think!

Recipe:
Stamps: Feet with Umbrella, bugs - Bugawamps; Enjoy the Moment - Papertrey Ink; Life's Just Beachy - Inque Boutique
Paper: White; Black; Only Orange & Sun Yellow - SU; DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Black Brads; Star Punch;

Anni-VERVE-sary Sketch #10

Wow it is hard to believe that it is already day 10 for the Verve Stamps Anni-VERVE-sary 12 days of sketches. I have been having a lot of fun with all these sketches and also doing my own personal challenge of trying to use a different stamp company for each sketch I do ... this has meant me getting out some older stamp that I haven't used for some time.

My card today uses an image of Tigger that I have had for a number of years now .... I was going through my stamp drawers trying to decide what stamp to use for this sketch when I saw this one .... I wanted something that was thinnish in length to match the sketch and this one just jump out to me as I was opening and closing the drawers.

I used the new 'forest branches' cuttlebug embossing folder on the 3 orange panels behind Tigger once I had embossed these pieces I sponged over black ink to give them a look like a tiger.

Recipe:
Stamps: Tigger - All Night Media; Sentiment - Unknown
Paper: White; Black; Pumpkin Pie - SU; DP - Crate Paper
Other: Black Ink; Circle Punches; Forest Branches Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Black Brads; Foam Tape

Anni-VERVE-sary Sketch #9

Just popin' in to say ...... hmmmm that I am still having fun playing the Verve Stamps Anni-VERVE-sary 12 days of sketches. My card today is for sketch #9 ... wow have I really being playing this for 9 days already.

I am still trying to use different companies for each card so today I selected some stamps from Darcies Rubber Stamps ... I just love their cute little bears. I stamped the bear in the popcorn bowl twice on white card and once on wild wasabi card and cut out the bowl from the wasabi card and the paws and popcorn word from the while and layered them onto the green bowl.

The scallop layer was created using my rectangle nestabilities ... cutting two rectangles and joining to get the size I needed for my image. The wasabi panel on the left of my card was embossing using the houndstooth cuttlebug embossing folder and then I sponged over the raised areas with wild wasabi SU ink.

Inside the card I have stamped a verse that says: "Just popin' in to say....." I will probably add the words happy birthday or whatever when I know who and why I am giving this card to.

Recipe:
Stamps: Bear in Popcorn & Jumping Bear - Darcies; Sentiment (inside) - Cottage Stamper
Paper: White; Morning Marigold, Close to Cocoa & Wild Wasabi - SU; DP - Crate Paper
Other: Black Ink; Wild Wasabi SU Ink; Green Brads; Rectangle Nestabilities; Houndstooth Cuttlebug Embossing Folders; Foam Tape

Anni-VERVE-sary Sketch #8

Another one bites the dust! That is another sketch for the Verve Stamps Anni-VERVE-sary 12 days of sketches. We are now onto day 8 .... yahhhhhhhh!!!! Julee has also given those of us that want them the pdf file with all the other sketches on them so hopefully I know what I will be doing during the weekend. I did mirror image the sketch to allow for the direction this bella's leg was facing, but other than that the sketch is exactly the same.

While I am creating these 12 cards using the Verve Stamps sketches ... I am also trying to use different companies stamps for each one of them. Today I used one of my Stamping Bella stamps which I haven't used for a while .... I do love this cupcakeabella image.

Recipe:
Stamps: Cupcakeabella - Stamping Bella; Sentiment - EK Success
Paper: White; Cool Caribbean, Pretty In Pink & Rose Red - SU; Euphoria DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Pretty In Pink SU Ink; Pink Grosgrain Ribbon; Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Oval Nestabilities; Blue Brads; Glitter Glue; Foam Tape

Anni-VERVE-sary Sketch #7

OK well maybe some of you can "read me like a book", enough to know that I would sooner or later be uploading my card for day 7 of Verve Stamps Anni-VERVE-sary 12 days of sketches.

This one took longer because I got sidetracked last night creating another card I need for a challenge on Monday ... so I didn't start this one till this morning.

This card uses the new Flopsie set called "This is My Story" which was released by MFT stamps yesterday .... isn't is just so cute!!!!! I think this card is pretty self explanatory so I will get straight onto the recipe for you.

Recipe:
Stamps: This is My Story - MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Black; Real Red - SU; DP - Imaginisce
Other: Black Ink; Red Grosgrain Ribbon; Corner Rounder; Hole Punch; Foam Tape

Anni-VERVE-sary Sketch #5

Well it is day 5 for the Verve Stamps Anni-VERSE-sary 12 days of sketches and here is my card using sketch #5.

This was a pretty quick card to create ... most of it was done while I was cooking dinner last night which is probably why the potatoes almost boiled dry ... oops. Luckily they were saved before that happened haha!

I kept to a monochromatic theme for this one using really rust for the designer paper and card used here.

Recipe:
Stamps: Dog & Sentiment - The Cat's Pajamas
Paper: White; Black; Really Rust & DP - SU
Other: Black Ink; Forest Branches Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Black Grosgrain Ribbon; Rust Brads; Foam Tape

Anni-VERVE-sary Sketch #4

OK I am back with my fourth card for the Verve Stamps Anni-VERVE-sary sketch challenges ... 4 down 8 to go ... will I get there is the question ... I am certainly trying! At least I am all caught up now ... so I should only need to post one per day from now on ...that is the plan anyway.

This one uses one of the Sweet Ebony stamps by Sugar Nellie ... I just adore these stamps .... isn't she a cutie! I used the new floral screen cuttlebug embossing folder to create the texture on the blue layer.

Recipe:
Stamps: Sweet Ebony - Sugar Nellie; Sentiment - Papertrey Ink
Paper: White; Elegant Eggplant, Cool Caribbean & Real Red - SU; Euphoria DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Floral Screen Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Square & Circle Nestabilities; Purple Brads; Foam Tape

Anni-VERVE-sary Sketch #3

Down by the Station early in the morning, see the little puffer bellies all in a row...... oops sorry I couldn't help myself, that tune came into my head while I was creating my card and of course I had to share ;) .

This is #3 of the Verve Stamps Anni-VERSE-sary sketch challenges ... I thought it was about time I got Billy out to play. Maybe I will give this to my DH cause he likes trains.

Recipe:
Stamps: Dress Up Billy Set - Pink Cat Studio
Paper: White; Chocolate Chip, Buckaroo Blue, Cranberry Crisp & At Home DP - DU
Other: Black Ink; Brown Grosgrain Ribbon; Corner Rounder; Foam Tape

Here is my second card for the Verve Stamps Anni-Verve-sary sketch challenges. It is already day 3 for this celebration .... I have only done two cards so far as I only found out late yesterday from a friend, but I am trying hard to catch up hehe!

This card uses Cornish Heritage Farms "The Shoe Boutique" set.

Anni-VERVE-sary Sketch #1

It's Verve Stamps first Anni-VERVE-sary and to celebrating this with 12 days of sketches. Well as I love doing sketch challenges I thought I would try and play along ... not sure if I will actually get to do all 12 but I will give it a shot. You will find the info for this sketch over on the Verve Member Forum on SCS.

For the first sketch challenge I used my Gina K "Comfort and Peace" set. I don't really need a sympathy card right now ... but I thought I would make one anyway to have in my stash. When you do need them you are either busy or don't feel like making one ... after all it is a sad occasion when you need them.

Recipe:
Stamps: Comfort & Peace Set - Gina K Designs
Paper: White; Black; Really Rust, Rive Rock & Apple Cider DP - SU
Other: Black Ink; Black Grosgrain Ribbon; Black Brads; Corner Rounder; Hole Punch; Marvy Markers # 88 & 96
