Flashback Friday - Mini Books

Well Friday certainly came around pretty fast this time round. I am having lots of fun selecting past projects to highlight each week for Flashback Friday, I hope you are all enjoying it too.

This week I am highlighting a um plate by Sunday International called Altered Book. This plate has all you need to create the basic book ie the cover, the inside pages and a few other things you can use to create a book if you wish. But with a little bit of imagination (which we all have) and other stamps etc you own you can make some unique creations suitable for all sorts of occasions including birthdays, birth of a child, Christmas or just for fun.

The first book I found the template for the woman's body in a Paper Crafts mag and just had to use it to create a book. I came up with my title for the book and used my Lucy's Stamps tag alphabet stamps to create it. Inside the book I had to work out something to go inside that suited the theme of the book - I ended up going with the ladies running and as I had lots of food stamps the eat right page was easy to do.

The Winnie the pooh book I made for a friend (and one for me too, which is why you can see two in the above picture. Somethings just can't be given away without having one yourself LOL!) I used a variety of Winnie the Pooh stamps from All Night Media & Rubber Stampede to create this book. I think there are a few other scenery stamps from other companies too. The letters in the title are again from Lucy's Stamps (Aust). If you look closely at the inside of this book you can see that Tiger and Winnie the Pooh actually pop up as the book opens. This one did take a bit of time to work out the pop up bit (thanks also to Susan who originally came up with this idea and shared with me)

This last book could be suitable for a male that likes to play poker, however I just made it because I could and sent it to my friend Susan who also has this set and has sent me a few of her books too. I am not sure if those HM are really playing poker but they are playing cards so that is how this book came into being. The rules of poker I found in a games book and shrunk down to fit into my book and yes I do have a few playing card stamps so it was easy to decorate the front of this book.

I had to laugh when I saw your first altered project. My siste-in-law and I went on a diet years ago (think we were thinner then than now) back to my thought. I had altered a composition book for a diet journal and used the same template on her journal. It was great fun, would be even funnier to see it now.
