Tea-licious Toilet Roll Book

Hi everyone, I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. A few weeks ago I spied a tutorial on Paper Jewels blog on how to create a Toilet Paper Roll book.

I thought these looked like a lot of fun and were different so I decided to give it a go. Now I know some of you will be going ewwwwwwwwww about using the rolls or tubes from toilet paper. I was about to collect them and had one on my desk when my daughter saw it. She works in Childcare and using the rolls from toilet paper is not allowed because some consider it unsanitary ... however she told me that she had some brand new rolls that they purchase just for the kids to use (hehe funny that you can just buy toilet roll paper tubes).

Being the nice daughter that she is, she brought 3 home for me to play with so I could make my book. For those of you who might want to make one of these and aren't fussed on using the tubes from toilet paper ... there is always the tubes from alfoil, plastic wraps etc that you might be able to use ... you don't want the tube too strong cause it does need to be scored flat.

For my book I used the new Chocolate Kiss digital paper designed by Stephanie Fizer which is available from MFT Stamps. I also used the new "Tea for Two" stamp set also by MFT Stamps.

Here is the first page of my book ... I kept it fairly simple just using one of the sentiments from the stamp set.

And the second page ... with another of the sentiments ... I had thought about adding something else but when I tried it I decided I preferred like it is now.

I found some tea themed quotes online and printed them out to use for my pull out tags that slip into the centre of each of the pages/tubes.

Here are all the pull out tags with all the different quotes. I know someone is likely to ask what the quotes are and I not sure if you can read them even if you click on the photo so I will add them here for you.

There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea. Henry James

A woman is like a teabag you cannot tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water. Nancy Reagan.

Teapot is on, the cups are waiting, Favorite chairs anticipating, No matter what I have to do, My friend there's always time for you!

Wow, what a great job! TFS! I think it funny that people would be squeamish about toilet paper rolls. I suppose you could cut a paper towel roll in half, they are about the same as a toilet paper roll. Two of those would give you four "pages".
