Monkey Hello

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a card I created recently using some of the Simon Says Stamp's Big Picture Book die sets. This card using the Big Picture Book Monkey, Big Picture Book Big Body and Big Picture Book Tails die sets. I die cut the pieces using either brown or white cardstock, coloring the white pieces as required using Copic Markers.

For the background I pulled out Taylored Expressions Mosaic Leaves Stencil, I love this stencil and have used it an number of times previously to create cards .... so I guess I would say it is a must have! This is the first time I have used a stencil with my Make Art Stay-tion which is a magnetic mat which also includes a magnetic ruler and magnets to help keep the cardstock etc in place. I also used Pixie Spray on the back of the stencil which was a big help too, it took me most of the year to find this product in Australia to purchase, but finally was able to get it a few months back. I used Catherine Pooler inks in Sage, Grass Skirt, Lime Rickey and Eucalypts along with Taylored Expression Blender Brushes to add the color through the stencil.

I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Dashing Squares to die cut the stencilled panel, which I then layered to black and a green top folding card.

I added a action wobble to the monkey's head so that the head will move when touched.

To finish off the front of the card I added the "Hello" sentiment which is from Spellbinders So Many Sentiments die set, I have a feeling I will be using this set a lot in the future.

For the inside of the card, I added a sentiment from Catherine Pooler's Awesome and Wonderful stamp set.

I also added a stamped monkey to the top left hand side of the card using one of the monkey's from Uchi's Designs Monkey Flipbook stamp set.
