Beecause Of You

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Lois Bak our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently tomorrow is Don't Step on a Bee Day. Use a bee on your card. Easy-Peasy!

If you haven't noticed lately, I am addicted to making Slimline Cards. So much so that I have set up a Facebook Group dedicated to this style of card. Of course I also still love making Pop-up, Interactive and Fancy Fold cards of any description, and am enjoying coming up with ways to incorporate Slimline Cards with one of those options. So for my card today I decided to create a Slimline Easel Card.

When folded this card measures 3 1/2 inches x 8 1/2 inches. I used Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Card Panels and Windows & Slimline Scalloped Card Panels and Banners die set to create the panels for this Slimline Easel Card.

I die cut the panels from white cardstock and then used Catherine Pooler Inks in Shea Butter and Sauna to add color to the background using a blender brush and Honey Bee Stamps Hexagon Layering Stencils.

Here you can see my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope. It folds down to a standard size Slimline Card and will fit into a Standard Business Class Envelope.

To decorate my card I used Honey Bee Stamps Build A Bee stamp set, the tree branches are from their Birds and the Bees Stamp set.

Here is a view of the base of my card. The sentiments used on this card are from Honey Bee Stamps Honey Bee Stamp set. I used the Banner Builder die set to die cut the "Beecause of You" sentiment which is adhered to the card with foam tape to help keep the card open when it is open for display.

The two bee faces on either side of the sentiment are also from the Build A Bee stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

A great card. Loving the new longer cards that seem to be the "in" thing now.

I think those Honey Bee Stamps bees are my favorites! And I like the easel -- never thought to make a slimline into an easel.
