Nativity Open Book

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I have three Nativity themed Mini Slimline cards I created for Christmas in July.

For this card I used Waffle Flower Crafts Open Book die set along with the Open Book Nativity Stencil.

The background was created using Trinity Stamps Time Warp Letterpress Plate which I gold foiled onto white cardstock. I die cut the panel using Waffle Flower Crafts Mini Slimline Layers die set.

The sentiment is from the Open Book Holiday sentiment stamp set.

For the inside I added another sentiment from the stamp set. I added a star above using one of the stencils.

A Year In Bloom - January

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to my blog. Today I am sharing an Arch Shaped card using the January Embossing Folder from Lisa Horton Crafts A Year in Blooms Embossing Folder set. This set includes 12 floral 5 x 7 embossing folders featuring a different flower for each month. The flower used for January is the Crocus. There a lots of gorgeous embossing folders in this set, and I am looking forward to featuring at least one a month if not more.

For my card today, I embossed a piece of black cardstock using the January Crocus Embossing Folder. I then added Silver Shine Metallic Pigment ink over the top of the raised portion of the card.

I used Arch dies from Trinity Stamps Arch-Shaped Card die set to create my 5 x 7 inch card.

For the sentiment I used Papertrey Inks Line It Up: Birthday die set. I die cut the sentiment three times from white cardstock, layering them together for height.

For the inside of the card, I used more of the arch shaped dies to add the layers.

The senitment is from Papertrey Inks This is a Big Sentiments: Birthday stamp set.

Festive Poinsettias

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another of the 14 cards I created using Spellbinders Festive Poinsettias Betterpress plate.
For this card, I foiled the background using a light blue foil. I coloured the poinsettias using various shades of pinks & reds. The card base & layers were created using Trinity Stamps Arch-Shaped Card die set.

I used Made To Surprise by Sam Calcott’s Festive Tartan Embossing Folder to create texture to the card base. I used Waffle Flower Crafts Merry Christmas foil plate for the sentiment, which is foiled in the same colour as the background.

For the inside of my card, I used a sentiment from Made To Surprise by Sam Calcott’s Festive Sentiments stamp set.

Cheers Dad

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a fun male themed card I created recently. I have been wanting to make this style of card for sometime, but I didn't want to go to the bother of measuring and cutting. So when Sam Calcott released this die in her recent Made To Surprise Showstoppers 3 collection, I couldn't want for mine to get over the ocean to me.

This card uses the new Double Concertina Showstopper die set and like many of Sam's dies, there are a number of different ways we can use them. For this card I decided to score the two 6 inch sides in half to make it an accordion style card.

To decorate the card, I used the papers from the Mainly Male Paper Pad. I also used the beer images from the Hobbies stamp/die set. For the top concertina panel I used the Chevron Embossing Folder. The letters that spell DAD are from the Chunky Uppercase Alphabet die set.

I added two white panels to the back of the card, one for the sentiment and the other for a place to write a personal greeting to the recipient.

For the sentiments I used the two sentiment sets included in the Showstoppers 3 Collection.

To keep the card closed, I made a tall belly band. To decorate this I used the Chevron Embossing Folder on the dark blue panel.

I used Trinity Stamps Here's to Brew stamp set to stamp the hand and beer mug.

The "Cheers" is from the sentiment set that I used on the back of the card.

Here is one last photo of my card when it is folded, before placing it in the belly band.

Wishing You A Merry Christmas

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I have a Gnome themed Christmas Slimline Shadow Box card to share with you.

My card uses Studio Light / Creative Craft Lab's Slimline Shadowbox Card die set. I decorated the card using Trinity Stamps North Pole Gnomes stamp set.

Inside the shadow box, I used Divinity Designs' Slimline Tree & Hill Silhouettes die set, to add the snowy hills and trees.  I used white glitter cardstock for the snowy hills.

The banner at the top of the card, is also included in the Slimline Shadowbox die set.

I added a panel to the back of the card. I added a gnome themed sentiment from Picket Fence Studios on this panel. I also added a gnome elf and gnome Santa to each side of the back panel.

Reindeer Mug

 Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another Coffee themed Christmas card, that I created recently.

For the base of the card, I used the A6 Window Card die set from Creative Craft Products Fancy Folds Collection.

To decorate my card, I used Trinity Stamps Freezin' Season & Beary Cute Layered Mug die sets.

Here you can see the card when it is folded ready to be placed in an envelope.

Here is a look at the back of my card, I added the "Season's Greetings sentiment at the top of the panel. I then added the "cup of Cheer" sentiment which is a digital sentiment I got from Verve Stamps some years ago.

The Influence of a Great Teacher

Hi Crafty Friends,

Well it's almost the end of September, which means that is only about 6 weeks or so before the end of the school year for my Grandchildren. I have been making Teacher cards all year, but still need a few more, so I was excited when Trinity Stamps released some awesome teacher/school themed stamps and dies recently. I ended up using most of the sets on this card.

One of the products released was the Slimline pencil die set, I love how easy it is to assemble the pieces to make the card.

I was inspired by Kelly Taylor of Kelly Taylor Cards to add the apple to the front of the card. She had done a video tutorial a little while ago and had added it. I wouldn't have thought to try adding the "Influential Teacher" sentiment to the apple, if I hadn't see her card. You can see her video here

The apple shape was cut, using the outline die included in the Thank You Apple die set.

I added the "A+" to the right side of the apple which is from the Cool Clipboard die set.

For the inside of the card I used Trinity Stamps Simply Sentimental - Teacher stamp set. It's nice to have a new sentiment set. Seeing this is a slimline card, I selected the longest "teacher" sentiment and then added the other sentiments to it.

I used the small pencils from the Cool Clipboard die set to finish off the card.

Dog Coffee Mug

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a dog & coffee themed card that I made recently. This card uses Trinity Stamps Bear Mug die set for the mug shape and the Cat & Dog Mug Add-on die set to decorate the mug and turn it into a dog mug.

To decorate the edge on the right side of my card, I used Crafter's Companions Dainty Daisies Border Edgeables die set.

The birthday sentiment is one from a Creative Craft Products stamp set.

For the inside of the card, I added a sentiment using stamps from Lawn Fawn's Critter Chatter stamp set.

Party Pirates

Ahoy my Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a pirate themed pop up card I created recently.

For my card today, I pulled out Trinity Stamps Party Pirates Stamp/Die set which I purchased recently, to make this fun pop-up card. The style of pop up I used here is a tiered pop up. I added three tiered blocks to this card, adding sand or ocean to each of the pop-up blocks.

I also used Trinity Stamps Wavy Lines Background on the bright blue cardstock for the ocean.

In the photo above, you can see the three block tiered pop-ups I added to this card.

I used Lawn Fawns Stitched Hillside Borders and Stitched Wave Borders die sets for each of the different layers.

Here is a look at the front of the card. I kept the front fairly simple seeing the focus is on the inside of the card. I used some of the same elements on the front that I used on the inside of the card.

Whale In A Bottle

Hi Crafty Friends,

Thanks for visiting my blog. Today I am sharing an Ocean themed shaped card I created recently.

This card uses Spellbinders, Whale in a Bottle die set which was the large die of the month for June. I haven't participated in any of the Club Kits previously as the shipping cost was too expensive. Fortunately when I checked on the shipping when this die set was available, it was much more reasonable, and as I loved this kit I had to order it.

There are step by step instructions on the back of the packaging, which makes assembling all the various pieces to create this card very easy.

I used a sentiment from Trinity Stamps Whale Done stamp set to add the stamped sentiment.

Here is a look at the inside of my card. I added another of the sentiments from the Trinity Stamps Whale Done stamp set.

I also added part of the whale to the bottom portion of the card.
