Sending Lots of Love

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Anne Harmon our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Our challenge this week is ......
The November birthstone is a Topaz. Create a card using the colors in the yellow to amber range.

My card is probably a little more orange than yellow to amber, however it definitely has those colors in it. When I was thinking about this challenge ... I only read the part about Topaz and color. When I googled Topaz colors to be sure. google told me that the most valuable colors of Topaz are the golden yellow-orange type. So this is what I based my card on today.

To create my card I started by applying alcohol ink onto Yupo paper in yellow/orange colors. I then used the flowers from the Altenew Starry Flowers stamp set and Alcohol Lift Ink to stamp the flowers all over the background. I just love how the background turned out.

For my card, I pulled out one of my older die set designed by Karen Burniston when she was licensed to Elizabeth Craft Designs .... the Oval Pull Card die set. Unfortunately this die set has been discontinued.

To decorate my card I used Altenew's Starry Flowers stamp set, die cutting the flowers and using one of the front and one hidden on the inside.

For the sentiment on the inside I used the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from a Catherine Pooler stamp set. I used the sentiment from Altenew's Sewn with Love stamp set for the front panel.

I used Ebony Black Nuvo Drops to add a dot on the closure part of the card.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Fabulous Friend Alcohol Lift Ink

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I have two cards to share with you that I created when I was playing around with Alcohol Inks and Alcohol Lift Ink the other day. This time around I have one that was creating lifting the alcohol ink off the cardstock by stamping an stamp and the other which uses the ink that was lifted off by the stamp.

For this card I applied Crimson, Dandelion and Valencia Alcohol inks onto Yupo Paper. Once the alcohol inks were dry I then used Simon Says Stamp's Modern Rose Blooms Cling Stamp and Alcohol Lift Ink to stamp the image from the stamp onto the alcohol inked background.

I then cut my background panel so it would fit onto a 4 1/4 inch x 5 1/2 inch folded card.

I used Simon Says Stamp's Frames die set to die cut the panel from the alcohol inked background and gold cardstock and inlaid the gold thin frame into the alcohol inked frames.

I then used Concord and 9th's Fabulous Phrases die set to add the sentiments die cutting from gold cardstock.

I meant to cut my panel for this card the way I did the one above by so that the border edge would also be floral, however I die cut before I remembered I was going to do that so had to cut this one from white cardstock.

After stamping the Alcohol Lift Ink stamped image onto the alcohol inked background panel, I then added a white piece of cardstock and used the alcohol ink sitting on the background stamp and stamped it only the white cardstock. I love that you can get two cards from one stamp if you want to.

For the inside of the card, I added another alcohol inked background panel to the centre of the card and added another die cut sentiment.

And for the inside of my other card I cut a rectangle panel that was left over from stamping the image and added it to the bottom of the card and then added a sentiment.

Sending You Birthday Wishes

Hi Crafty Friends,

Like many others, when the  Alcohol Lift Ink and reinker became available I had to purchase it. It's been a while sitting here, but I finally got around to playing with it.

When I first started playing, I accidentally pulled out my alcohol ink cardstock rather than Yupo paper so was starting to think it wasn't going to work. Fortunately when I started tidying up, I realised my mistake so started playing again and YES!!! this time it worked.

For my card above I used Pool, Flamingo and Aquamarine alcohol inks to color my Yupo paper. Once the paper was dry, I pulled out my Simon Says Stamp Jazz Dance Stencil and used the Alcohol Lift Ink Reinker through the stencil to create my background.

The base card looks more purple in the photo above but it is actually dark blue.

I die cut the panel using Elizabeth Craft Designs Dashing Squares die set.

To decorate my card I used Altenew's Mega You die and Mega Greetings 2 stamp set.

For the inside of the card I added a panel of the left over alcohol inked Yupo paper to the bottom of the card. For the sentiments I used Honey Bee Stamps Enjoy die set and coordinating stamp set.
