Happy Birthday

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. As challenge hostess for April, I continue to issue the challenges.

This time round I have challenged the Design Team to use a stencil when creating your card.

Why is it you can use something all the time then when it comes to using that same thing for a challenge you have no idea what to do LOL ... It took me a few days to figure out what I wanted to do for my challenge card this week. I finally decided to use Tim Holtz' Stripes Stencil which I placed on my card diagonally and added the blue color to the stencil and then moved the stencil to the opposite diagonal position and added the pink color to get a plaid effect.

Today I am playing with a new die set I purchased last week, I already had a Centre Step die which I like,  but I recently saw this one by Tattered Lace. At first I ignored it as it wasn't cheap, but the more I thought about it the more I liked that it was a different size to the one I already had (this one is just under 8 inches wide) and the set also contained a ton of dies to give different options to decorate the card, so I had to make a special trip to the store to buy the die set ... what a pity hehe!

I have used an Art Impressions stamp set, Giant Cake Set to decorate my card.

On either side of the card I added a Star Border from Marianne Designs which I purchased at a recent Craft Show, I have a feeling I may use this a lot. I die cut the star border using double sided adhesive and then added Sky Silk Microfine Glitter.

Here is the inside of my card, I guess I could have decorated the side panels using designer paper, but I didn't for this one ... maybe next time.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

How very creative to make this wonderful spring plaid for your card. Love the diagonal lines worked this way.

I thought that was plaid DP! I hear you on the difference between using something any old day without thinking about it and then coming to a full stop when you have to use it for a challenge!
I see the AI ladies weren't ready to leave the party yet after so many of them came out for the humour last week!
