Santa Slippers

 

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s the 25th June, which means it is exactly 6 months until Christmas! So today I am sharing a Christmas card I created. 

This card uses Spellbinders Cozy Toes Slippers die set which was the large die of the month for October 2024. This is such a fun die set with slippers of various designs including Santa, Reindeer, a penguin etc. You’ll definitely see more of this set in the future. 

For my card I created a Tri Shutter card, using an older die from Tattered Lace. I covered the front with a rectangle panel for a different look.

And finally the back of my card. I added a white panel to the right side of my card so I could add a stamped sentiment and a place to write a personal message. 

Happy Anniversary

 

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing an anniversary card I made for my hubby as we are celebrating 50 years of marriage today.

50 years is also known as the golden anniversary to I kept with a gold and white theme for my card today. 

I created what is known as a "Showstopper card" by adhering two tri-fold cards together using the Made To Surprise by Sam Calcott's Tri-fold 6 x 6 Showstopper Card die  set.

For the white panels of the card I dry embossed the panels using the Linen Embossing Folder also from Made To Surprise.

My card folds flat (as you can see in the photo above), the size when folded is 6 inches x 10 inches. 

To decorate my card I used two images from Tattered Lace which I die cut from gold pearlescent cardstock.

On the centre portion of my card I added circles using circle dies from Creative Craft Products and then added the "Happy 50th Anniversary" using dies from Karen Burniston.

To finish off the card I added gold pearls randomly to the card.

For the back of my card, I added panels using the dies from the Showstopper die set. 

On the left side panel I added a sentiment using a stamp set from Divinity Designs. This sentiment was layered using. Oval Nesting dies from Creative Craft Products.

On the right hand panel, I added a computer generate panel which goes through how many months, weeks, days, minutes and seconds 50 years is.

Skating By To Say

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Maryann Einam our challenge hostess for the month finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Our challenge this week is a Play on words - Create a card using these words for inspiration .... "Skating on thin ice"

As soon as I saw the lantern die from SugarPea Designs I knew I had to have it in my collection. I finally received as a Christmas present a few months ago. This is the first chance I have gotten to play with it and thought it would be fun to create a skating scene inside the lantern using MFT Stamps You Make My Heart Melt stamp set.

As you can see I have created a Tri Shutter Card using a die from Tattered Lace.

On the centre sentiment panel as the sentiment was very small, I added another image from the stamp set and the sentiment.

Happy Birthday from the Dog

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lois Bak our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently yesterday April 11th was National Pet Day. Use a pet (dog, cat, bird, canary – whatever) on your card.

For my card this week I have created a tri shutter card, I don't think I have made one all year and I do enjoy making this style of card.

To decorate my card I used Art Impressions Dot Mouthful stamp/die set, this is such a fun stamp set.

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am playing with a few more new toys I received for Christmas. First the card base which was die cut using the Tattered Lace Tri-fold Card die set. This card is WAYYYYYY bigger than I was expecting it to be, it is basically A4 in size, it comes with lots of decorator dies which I didn't use except for a few to add the layering. Maybe next time I will play with some of the other pieces in the set.

Here is another view of my card taken at a different angle, so you can see all the folds in the card. To decorate my card I used Art Impressions/Hampton Arts Aged to Perfect stamp set.

On Your Wedding Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Joanne Grzelak our challenge hostess for the month finishes off the month with one last challenge.

As the last of our celebratory month, I would like you to make a baby card OR a wedding card……your choice. (If you have lots of time, you could make both….lol!!!) 

When I first saw this challenge I thought about creating a baby card. The other week my daughter attended a wedding for one of her friends and let me know the day before the wedding that she needed a card ... arghhhhh! Luckily after a little searching I found a card I had made about a year ago which she was able to use, so I decided to make a wedding card instead so I had one in my stash in case there is a next time.

I decided to play again with Karen Burniston's new Tag Book Pop-up die set .... love love love this die set and it can be used for so many different occasions. I added the sentiment which I glittered using gold glitter and a bride and groom image I had in my stash.

Here is a look at the inside of my tag book .... as you can see I have gone with a black and gold theme and a little bit of white.

I used the A Way with Words - Mr & Mrs die set for the two "tag" panels die cutting them in white cardstock that had Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the front and then covering them with Light Gold  Silk Microfine Glitter.

I also added a couple of rings to one of the square panels.

For the final square panel I added two hearts which are included in the Tag Book Pop-up die set.

Here is a close up of the left side of the inside of the tag book pop-up card. I added two more hearts to the inner tag on the gold polka dot paper.

Bee-utiful Day!

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Raquel Mason our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Our challenge theme this week is .... Monochromatic - make a card that has different shades of one color. For example - different shades of blue or different shades of green. You may use white or black as an accent.

I had originally created my card I am using for today's challenge for Thursday's CCEE challenge which was an insect theme. But when I looked at my card saw that it would work for today's monochromatic challenge and it was easier to make another card for my CCEE challenge then think about monochromatic again this week.

To decorate my card I used a cute digital stamps called Mashi's Muffins Bumble Bee that I purchased some years ago. I created a Tri Shutter card using the Tattered Lace Shutter Card die set.

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a Father's Day card I created using the EK Success Googly Eyes/Mustache/Lips die set which I purchased recently. I had such fun with this die set that I made a few male cards with it which I will be sharing with you over the next couple of weeks.

For this card I used the Tattered Lace Shutter Card die set to create my card. 

The sentiment is computer generated. On the last panel of the card I added the sentiment "D@D" from lil' Inker Designs.

On the face on the front of the card I used both mustaches from the die set, one for the mustache and the other for the hair. I also used one of the circles from the other set of eyes for the nose and also the mouth.

I used the circles from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Huge Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone,

Today is my birthday and as I didn't have anything particular I had to post on my blog today, I decided to create a birthday card using this cute Party Animal stamp set I purchased recently from Kraftin' Kimme Stamps.

As you can see I have created a Tri Shutter card using the Shutter Card die set from Tattered Lace.

 I used the Stitched, Fitted and Dotted Scallop Circles from Elizabeth Craft Designs for the image. I also added the ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners for the HB2U which I added to the top left hand corner of my card. I added the party hat from the Props 7 die set onto each of the 4 square corners.

To finish off the card I added the "Celebrate" sentiment to the right hand panel.

Look Whoo's having a Birthday!

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week our challenge hostess for the month, Vicky Gould continues to issue the challenges.

This week Vicky has requested that we make a tri-fold card.  There are lots of instructions, both on SCS and You Tube.  

I decided to create a Tri Shutter card this week for the challenge part of the card.

Of course I am still playing with Christmas pressies I received, for this card I used the Art Impressions Owl & Cat Place Card Pals die set ... of course I had to have this die set since it included an owl in it :) This die was designed to be used to create place cards, but it works equally well on the front of a card.



Here is a photo of my card taken from overhead so you can see the folds in this card a litter better.



And finally a look at my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope. Even though the owl is 3D, if you are careful this could still be placed in an envelope as the legs can fold flat.

Today I have another Christmas card to share with you, it is scary how close Christmas is getting don't you think!

I recently purchased this fun Santa/Chimney stamp set at a Craft Show I attended and I am trying hard to make something with any Christmas stamps I buy before December gets here, otherwise I may not get to use them till next year.

For my card today I created a Tri Shutter card using the Tattered Lace Shutter die. Years ago when I used to make this style of card the hard way, I had made one where the first panel was a rectangle shape and I wanted to see if I could achieve this look using the die. As you can see I could :).

To achieve this look, all I did was cut an additional piece of card that was the height of the card and the width to where all the score lines lined up. I covered the front and back with card. The only other thing I had to do was score the top and bottom rectangle panel in half so it was a square like the one at the end and fold as per above. 

The sentiment also came in the stamp set, although in the stamp set it is soooooo tiny I had trouble reading it without a magnifying glass, so I used my computer to make one the size where it could easily be read and attached to the centre panel.

The die cut sentiments were cut in green and gold card and then offset a little so the green could be seen behind the gold sentiment.

Another Candle

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  Maryann Einam  our challenge hostess for the month finishes off the month with one last challenge.

According to the days of the year calendar, today is cake day. So for our challenge this week please add some cake to your card.

For my card this week I decided to pull out an older cake stamp I have in my stash, it is fun to revisit the older stuff every now and then. I used the cake to create a shaker card which I made with the help of my Fuse tool I got last Christmas.

As you probably can also see by the photo above besides being a shaker card it is also a Tri Shutter card using the die from Tattered Lace. I varied the cuts on the first part of the card so I could have a solid panel for the front of the card to fit my shaker onto.
