You Octopi My Thoughts

Hi Crafty Friends,

t's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  As challenge hostess for the month I continue to issue the challenges.

Today is World Octopus Day, include an octopus or other sea animal on your card.

Earlier in the year I purchased Lawn Fawn's Ocean Shell-fie stamp set which has two Octopi included in the set, so I decided to pull that stamp set out to create my card.

As you can see I created a Slimline card. I used a Slimline die set from Trinity Stamps for the stitched card base. I blended Distress Oxide inks in Cracked Pistachio; Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon to create the ocean scene.

Along the bottom of the card I used Lawn Fawn's Slimline Stitched Hillside Borders die set to create the sand at the bottom of the ocean. This was die cut from Kraft cardstock, I then used Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink around the edges of the border and then splattered to some ink over the whole border.

For the inside of the card I created a pop up card. Seeing I created a Slimline card in landscape orientation, I decided to add two pop ups to my card using the pop up from the Katherine Label Pop-up. To add the pop-up on the right, it was just a matter of reversing the folds on the pop-up die cut.

On the left hand side pop-up I added the sentiment from the stamp set and the "birthday wishes" sentiment from MFT Stamps Bitty Birthday Sentiments stamp set.

Here is another photo of the inside of my card, taken at a different angle.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:
