Hi Crafty Friends,
It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being a brand new month it's time to introduce our new challenge hostess, which is ME!
Apparently the 2nd March was Old Stuff Day, for our challenge this week let's combine something older (stamps, dies etc) with something newish.
For my card today I have created a Fold Flap Slimline Card. I have made this style in the past in A2 format, but this is the first slimline version. My friend Karen Aicken has been making a few of this style recently which you can find on her blog here along with a tutorial.
For the "old stuff" portion of the challenge I pulled out Darcie Rubber Stamps Tall Birthday Cake stamp. I have had this stamp about 20 years or so and being a tall stamp, it is perfect for Slimline Cards. As you can see by the photo above I used the cake to create a shaker card. I added a birthday sentiment using a stamp from The Stamping Village's Happy Birthday stamp set.
For the new portion of the challenge I used Studio Katia's Dotted Slimline die set to add my sentiment to the inside. The sentiment is also an older stamp from Hero Arts.
Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

So cute - love those papers, too.
So colorful and so fun!
That tall cake shaker is pretty awesome!! Love it with the stripes and balloons, Frances!!
This is really cute -- I love the shaker element! That older stamp really works well with a slimline card. And I have that same sentiment. I think it was a 3-stamp set (one of the other stamps was a Christmas sentiment, but I don't remember what the third one was).
